Coverdale Farm is perfect for families with young children. The kids get to help out with the farm chores, like feeding the sheep and pigs and collecting chicken eggs. Our son was so excited to do this, he was literally jumping up and down at one point. They also have other things to do like story time and lawn games.... More

We have not yet tried the farm produce program but do partake in fun activities and camps for our child. Looking forward to Sunday's barn chores and breakfast day.

Coverdale Farm is a short 15 minute drive out of Wilmington, DE and less than 5 minutes away from Winterthur. As members of the Delaware Nature Society, we have been to Coverdale dozens of times over the years with our 2 children for free Farm Days in the summer when you can visit and see all of the farm animals... This is a great place for kids to learn about the basics of family farming - but really from a historical perspective. Farming today is very high tech and industrialized. This is small and approchable with a warm caring staff that have been there for years and years. They are fantastic with kids. Great camps too!

There was a fee of $8 for adults and $6 for kids but since we got there an hour and a half before they were closing and probably because of the inclement weather, we got in... More
