Dewey Beach is smaller and with less people on it , very clean , quiet and is a great beach to get a sunrise or a sunset photo. June is a good month to visit. Fred the Photographer

This is the least crowded Delaware beach. 15/day for parking is the only downside, but worth it to have some space on the beach.

We visit every year for our anniversary. We got married on the beach in 2009. Lots of little shops and restaurants to walk to and less crazy than Rehoboth or Ocean City.

Beautiful and clean. Ice cream carts and Italian ice carts drive up and down the beach and the sell snacks where the umbrellas are rented.

If you walk the beach early in the morning or after dinner you can watch the dogs play in the surf, run the beach, and just have a blast.

Dewey Beach near Hyatt Place is wide and natural with lifeguards. We love to fly kites and the beach is wide enough to do it. Although its more for college aged crowd we had a great time with our toddler and never felt disturbed.

Beach was empty and I was allowed to let my dog run free for a bit. Little disappointed by the amount of trash found on the beach. Met couple town hall employees who stopped to talk to me and ask about a dog license. They...More

Had a great view of the beach from my deck at Atlanta View Hotel. Must visit if you can. Although dogs are on the beach before and after "beach season"

I see mention that dogs are only allowed on this beach before 9:30am or after 5:30pm, are there any beaches in the area that are dog friendly all day? We were planning a trip for early July 2017 with our two dogs but I'm not sure what we'd do all day in a beach town if the dogs can't be on the beach with us. Thanks!

sorry I don't know I never travel with pets
How warm can we expect the water to be in early July? If we are looking to spend multiple days swimming and relaxing on a beach, is this a good spot to go? Thanks!

I can't speak of water temp as we've only been there in September and it was 70+ Dewey Beach was the nicest beach of the five in the area we visited.
How long do they keep lifeguards on duty?

Unsure but here is the phone number for the lifeguard station--(302) 227-6365. I am sure they will be able to answer your question.
