We walked here from the Longshore Inn because we didn't plan on staying long and we knew it cost $50 to park on weekends. The beach is surrounded by gorgeous mansions with well-manicured gardens. The best part of the beach was the amenities- showers, changing...More

Compo isn't the best beach in this part of Connecticut but it's very nice. Great views, lots of sand, and forgiving water makes it great for an outing. Like so much of this area, you need a parking permit from Memorial Day to Labor day...More

I've been enjoying running and bicycling along Compo Beach, which is well maintained (sand is raked, trash cans emptied daily). Ample parking for residents with beach stickers, or visitors who pay a daily fee.

I visited the beach a few times (always with a group of people). For north east beach it is OK but nothing compare to a Caribbean beach or mediteranian. It is well organized with children play ground and the sand is mostly clean. Yet if...More

Love going with the kids. A beautiful jetty, and willing lifeguards. Also, excellent food at the beaches' own restaurant. The Huge playground where the kids play when they get bored of swimming. We love to go several times a year.

I live a mile from this beach and most go after 5:00 - one of the only beaches I know that is as busy in the evening as during the day. Fun place to hang with friends and catch up over a glass of wine

Nothing like a walk along compo beach. Beautiful on a nice day and refreshing on not nice days. A go to spot for me.

We experienced Compo Beach on a frigid March day, just to say we visited Connecticut. It was part of a dare, so to speak, to add Connecticut to our family "visited this place" list. A cabbie took us from the train station to Compo Beach,...More

Yes it is but it's much more populated when the weather is warmer. There are BBQs on the southern part of the beach which can be used as well.

If you are not a CT resident it is $35 per car on weekdays and $50 per car on weekends and holidays. Some people are not willing to pay those prices and they will go to the nearby Sherwood Island Beach, where it cost less... More
