About
The bay of Alimia, located on Iraklia's southwestern coast, hosts two sandy beaches that are accessible only by boat. The beach is known for the wreckage of a sunken WWII aircraft, at a depth of about 9metres.

Paradise beach! Must see on Iraklia!

Paradise! Absolutely worth visiting and must se on Iraklia. Remote beach, uncrowded, pure nature, crystal blue water and some shadow on it. Accessible by boat or some longer (?) walking distance (about 1,5 hour) over the hill.
We took a boat trip, our guide Antonis made our day perfect and he took us to 2 other remote beaches as well.
Do not miss Alimia beach when you visit Iraklia.

The best beach in Iraklia

Alimia beach on Iraklia is a sheltered sandy cove with wonderful shallow waters on the southwestern coast of Iraklia. It actually comprises two beaches, one with a cave-like formation shading the turqoise waters.A major attraction is the wreckage of a German Arado AR196 –a shipboard reconnaissance aircraft- that sank here during World War II and is visible from the surface.

Accessed this beach via a beach boat departing from Agios Georgios. Very nice boat ride to the beach. Lots of sand but little shade and no services. The water was great a d views of the cliffs made the trip worthwhile.

Very nice beach , clean and crystal clear water. Main attraction the famous plain reck !! Very popular with tourist !!

Wonderful beach

We visited with the boat Anemos and had a great time. Wonderful beach, crystal clear water. Take some water and fruit and find some shade!

Heaven on earth

So difficult to describe in words this place. It's something like "It must be paradise" gold sandy beach green/blue waters. A peaceful place.

Nice beach, long walk

Nice beach. Don't expect to be alone as there are yachts and a sea-bus from Agios Giorgios. There are 3 trees so can get some shade (if you get there soon enough).

Snorkel: fine but I saw more fishes at Livadi. There is also this plane from WW1 (look for the blue buoy).

Walking: we walked there from the cave. At the exit of the cave follow signs of way number 5. You have to be careful: the last part of way number 3 that you walked to reach the cave is common to way 5 but you have to walk on the opposite direction. At some point you will see the beach. You have to go down across the field, there is no marked way. As you can imagine it was hot (mid-June). Wake up early, stay a few hours at the beach, come back as late as possible and bring enough water (and food).

Deserted beach

we walked to this beach from the centre of Iraklia. a very nice walk but also with hills and rocks and some climbing. when we arrived we were only with one person on the beach and later we were alone. bring water and food because there is nothing on the way to the beach. when we were there (september 2016) there was no boattrip to the beach.
