Great park for young and old. Sit by the water on picnic tables or own lawn chairs, under shaded trees, and enjoy the view of Long Island Sound or walk the 1+ mile walking path that circles the park for exercise. Free tram (summers) takes you to several locations in the park, for beach, picnic, children's playground or mini Sound Waters Maritime Museum. Two beaches for great swimming. Sand volleyball set up. Many impromptu games by beach goers. We took the quieter smaller beach on the right (first tram stop). Concession at the bigger beach area, bathrooms and changing rooms are available throughout the park.Great any time of year. Free in off season or car sticker needed to enter or free to walk ins anytime of year. We park on a nearby neighborhood street and walk in.Beautiful spot!

Lovely park that juts out into harbor. There is a playground for children, baseball field, and a very nice walking path that circles around the rim of the park. Great views and a touch of nature in a city. Harbor is beautiful.

Cove Island Beach has something for everyone! Picnic areas. Boating areas. Playground for children. A large sandy beach (yes, it is the Sound, not the ocean, so water shoes recommended). You can run on the grass. Walk, bike etc on specific paths. Benches. Shade. Sun. Soundwaters. On any given day you will see a slice of Stamford, young and old, from all walks of life, enjoying the jewel of Stamford.

This park was very clean and beautiful! The walking areas were expansive and the beach areas were nice. Parking is expensive, so we parked on a side street a few blocks away :)

We stopped here on way home from Maine.... It sounded like a nice way to spend a few hours..... Left immediately after seeing the TWENTY DOLLAR parking charge..... Regardless of how long or short of a stay.

My wife and I started our vacation in Stamford. The day was beautiful and the park was awesome. It was clean, quiet with lots of walking and running trails. We had a picnic lunch enjoying the views of the water and park.

The sea is a calming force for me; but, since I don't live near the ocean, I come here when I feel the need to be near water. The trails are maintained and there is plenty of parking

Great place for walking, running and biking because there are no cars inside the park, just a track.

The price for parking to cove beach is $70 dollars , we pay that today because we are not resident of Connecticut.

I took the bus and it was free to get in. I went in October though, not summer. I didn't pay attention to any fee signs, either because they were only for cars or because I was visiting beyond the dates for which they apply. I'm sure you can look it up on the city park website.

It is free to just walk in, only have to pay if you drive in and park a car, the fee is $20 or $25 for the day I believe

Are you allowed to have a barbeque there.

Good question! I think so, but I couldn't swear it. If I remember correctly, there are bbq grills installed there.
