I've lived in the area a long time but really hadn't explored Fort Trumbull. It's fascinating. It has so much history! The rooms inside the Fort have been newly reorganized. There is a fee for the Visitor's Center but definitely worth it. Be sure to...More

The fort was closed for the season but were able to walk around the grounds. The fort is still intact and the area around the fort is a nice little walk.

So glad this is not a condo area or fancy homes on the river. Perfect for history buffs and those that want to enjoy fishing, viewing and relaxing w/o spending $

I always see kids there and they seem to be having fun. They usually climbing on the cannons outside and as was said previously, plenty of places to run around including a big hill.
