Not a beach for children.Sand is full of broken shells. Water is also full of shells and dirty. Must wear water shoes at all times. No washrooms or showers...only smelly portable toilets. There are certainly nicer beach options in the area.

Nice place to visit and pack a lunch. Good for biking as well. Parking is a bit away from the beach area, but it's a pleasant walk.

View was gorgeous. Didn't walk the whole boardwalk but it looked pretty long. Pretty rocky in many areas. Didn't swim, so no idea what the water is like. Kites were flying and there was fishing. Mostly went to try seaglass hunting. Found a few pieces...More

Our beach visit today July 19, 2017, went not as good as expected. In past years we have gone to the beach here and we had a decent time, but this afternoon when we arrived it was super low tide and the tide was just...More

My bf got off work early so we decided to go check it out. He hadn't been there in years so he was pleasantly surprised how nice it was. We made the trek to Charles Island during low tide. We admired lots of beautiful sights....More

My husband and I love to visit Silver Sands and walk along the boardwalk down to Walnut Beach. It's about a 2 mile walk round trip, and you can't beat the beautiful view, especially around sunset.

Except for the benches, boardwalk and parking lot this little beach does not look like it was touched by man. It looks likes it's literally in the middle of nowhere: a little wetland ecosystem right on the Sound with lots of shells and twigs. The...More

Silver Sands is a nice place to chill and also if you are an avid Volleyball player, this place will not disappoint. Also folks so some swimming in the Ocean. The rock formation by the shoreline was cool.

This place is really good for picnics (they have wooden benches). Also, they have a beach area. The coolest thing is that the beach has a peninsula (land becomes a strip, with ocean on both sides). Be careful...this is not the best Beach for barefoot...More

Really enjoyed my last visit to Silver Sands! Spent time walking out to the island that you can only reach during low tide. Had a nice walk around there, then walked back in so we could stroll the boardwalk.

Yes, you can see sunrise from Silver Sands. The only problem is you have to park on East Broadway and walk a short distance to Silver Sands. The Silver Sands parking lot doesn't open until 8 AM. You can also see sunrise... More
