Lovely house with welcoming volunteers. It is well worth seeing if you enjoy historic architecture or want to learn about 18th century life.

Beautifully preserved 1720 Saltbox with welcoming and expert staff. Good programs for adults and kids. Small focused research library. Guided tours Wed - Fri. Collection of historic items.

There are museums that recreate history. Then there is Stanley Whitman house, which is a living recreation of the history. As you walk through the house and listen to living actors playing the role of times, history comes alive. A must visit in Farmington.

Visited with my grandson and my husband. Nice displays and outside colonial garden. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our visit.
