We took the tour of the Thimble Islands and it was just fabulous. The guide provided history of the Islands and the homes that have been built. As we cruised along there were people sitting on their boats and swimming. Just a pleasant tour that...More

If you are ever in the area this is a must stop. Never knew these islands existed off the coast of CT. You will especially enjoy them if you are an architect buff. The boat rides are nice a bit crowded so opt to go...More

The thimble islands are a great place to visit if you are in the area! We took one of the tour cruises which allowed us to get some history behind each island. Our guide was very good and kept everyone interested for the whole 45min/1...More

You can find several different boats that will give and hour or two tour of the Thimble Islands for less than $14 per person. The islands are very pretty and worth seeing.

thimbleislandcruise.com Captain Mike took us by boat ("Sea Mist") around the Thimbles, 25 inhabited islands. The tour included local lore, history (hurricanes, pirate tales, Native American history) and price tags of million-dollar properties. Money well spent!

When we got there, there was a lot of confusion and milling around as we waited for all the families to come and decided whether or not to eat lunch first, which ferry to take, etc. I looked at the closest islands, finding it boring...More

This was my third Thimble Island cruise over 20 years. We cruised on a larger boat that held about 40. It was narrated live but the woman sounded like a recording. The smaller boats which hold about a dozen people were much more entertaining and...More

Fantastic spot for a boat trip. Beautiful scenic waters surrounded by huge homes built on the rocks. Many homes owned by celebrities.

As answered by others, no, the tour boats don't stop at any of the islands. There is a local boat that transports people to and from their homes on the islands. This cruise is just to see the homes and to enjoy a little... More

Many old-timers go on the tour. I would contact each of the three boats about your situation since they're independent operators, The Sea Mist (the largest, 54 passengers), Volsunga IV (somewhat smaller), and The Islander... More
