Fishing was next to impossible because the lake was high and there were several people there. We have visited before when the lake was lower and still had the same issue.

Lots of trails around the lake and the old boat dock is a great place to teach kids to skip rocks - just remember to not skip near people fishing! You don't want to interrupt their fun!

Lathrop is great for families! A 3 mile paved walking trail around the lake, fishing, boating, and a fun beach that has recently been expanded with covered picnic tables and bathrooms. One of our favorite State Parks! PS the camping is awesome too.

The state park is nice! We tend to like camping in more secluded areas, but we were vacationing with friends. The area we stayed in was really nice, clean & quiet. The lake was busy, but not super packed. Bathrooms were clean. We traveled to...More

Just outside Walsenburg, you have your choice of two lakes, lots of fishing and even golf. Great hiking and golf at a ridiculously low price. Always something new as 87% of the area residents use the park each year.

Nice lake, swimming available, large secluded sites that accommodated 50 or so. Fire pit, bathroom facilities were very clean and easily available and accessible.

We love Lathrop State Park. We stay here at least once a year for hiking, fishing and siteseeing. The campsites are spacious. There is also lots of space between campsites so you don't feel crowded in. In fact, some sites are very private because of...More

This state park was an easy 7 miles from I-25. All pullthru sites with plenty of space between them. Cement pads, gravel picnic area & Pinõn loop has 20, 30, 50 amps. Water was available throughout the park, but would advise having a full tank...More

In Loop A, 25 through 36, Loop B, 53 through 56. These sites offer great views of the Spanish Peaks and the Cuchara Valley and LaVeta Pass.

Does the campground have electric hookups? I can't seem to find anything about it, and since we always travel with pets, that'll be the option that works for us. We're thinking about coming in February, though, so the weather will have to cooperate, and we'd really like an electric hookup. Can anyone send me a link to info about the campground?
