If you do walk here from the Village, there is a lovely trail that goes beside the rushing Gore Creek. Once at the gardens, they do appear to be well maintained. There is a... More

While smaller in size this is a garden to enjoy Colorado flowers. Pleasantly presented this is worth the walk. The new center offers a seminar in plants and insects. Great place. Betty is proud.

I've been by this busy park in summer, but got to experience it on a brisk spring day when the people and flowers were sparse. I didn't realize how much there is to see. There is something for everyone, from playground to Zen gardens. A wonderful rock garden was beginning to bloom with tundra flowers. Nice spot to visit if... More

I'm a sucker for a nice botanical garden. Besides appreciating the beauty, they are usually a great place for pictures. Since I was traveling with just my wife, I thought this would be a nice, romantic place to visit. Well, it definitely would have been, had my wife not been feeling the effects of altitude sickness. So she found a... More

I was here in September and it was lush and beautiful and I was here in March and still appreciated the sleeping terrain.

For something different during your time in Vail, visit the Alpine Gardens and go snowshoeing. Staff is very friendly and also offers guided tours once a week or you can do a self guided tour.

The Alpine Gardens are a great way to spend a sunny afternoon. Not only are the gardens surrounded by stunning mountain views, but the gardens themselves are very well kept, educational, and an overall fun experience. And the visit to the Gardens is topped off by a stop to the Education Center. What a great way to spend a day!... More
