We did not stay at the ranch. So have no opinion on it. We drove up to the ranch yesterday and I am here to tell you it was a huge disappointment. As others have said, the road is horrible. We were in a rental car and it took us 75 minutes to go 11 miles due to the poor... More

Brittany was such a pleasure to work with and has become a friend after having our wedding at the one and only, beautiful Piney River Ranch. She was always quick to respond to all of our inquiries during our planning process. It is always great to work with someone you WANT to work with. From the moment we met her... More

The approach brings "trail ride" to mind. After a 30 minute super bumpy (unpaved) drive one is rewarded with a spectacular panorama. The (lunch only) menu is limited but tasty and well priced. The staff couldn't be more friendly and welcoming.Several great hikes available and it's rumored that there are trout in the lake, although on our visit the wind outperformed our talent.

We stopped here while hiking to the waterfalls. We canoed & SUP'ed. It is beautiful! The staff is friendly and the facilities are clean. This was a highlight of our trip.

This hike is easy for young and old alike. We didn't go all the way to the falls because of threatening rain. We did have lunch at the restaurant. It was a beautiful setting.

This is a hidden gem. We only heard about the trail from some other people vacationing and came to check it out and found the ranch. The view is so worth it we will be back. We hiked which was amazing for 3 hours along a moderate trail. You could just do the first half of the trail with perfect... More

45 minute dirt road trail that is very dusty and you have. To go slow due to small rocks on the road. After this trip you come to a lodge with a mid sized lake with an amazing backdrop. We took the kids out on the lake in a canoe they rent there and it was nice. We had lunch... More

Our two senior adult couples had a great day trip to Piney Lake and the ranch. Yes, the 45 minute drive up the dirt road is tedious, but can be easily handled by passenger cars. The reason it takes 45 minutes to go 10 miles is... You can drive it any faster without busting something! But as others have said,... More

Yes, it's true the drive takes about 45 minutes on a windy, rut-filled packed dirt road up the mountain. But it is totally worth it! The views with the lake, mountain backdrop and meadow flowers all around make for an incredibly beautiful setting! We did not do the hike to the waterfall because our 3 kids were not up for... More
