I found this memorial very moving knowing the history and coal mine disasters of the area. Several disasters were related to one particular company. It’s sad if you go to the cemeteries in the area and see a mass grave for the dead. Back then there weren’t a lot of safety rules. Unfortunately those men under aged, from a different ethic background or country felt this was a better life than where they came from. I particularly like the Canary in the cage.

This is a beautiful plaza area in downtown Trinidad. We had some coffee from Lucky's place around the corner. (Loved him too) just watching traffic go by on a sunny warm winter day here!
