Local historical museums are usually pretty dull. This was an exception. Being a town filled with people ready (or forced) to take risks, the stories end up colorful, and they're well backed-up with objects. The paintings done of the local "ladies of the night" as...More

There are a lot of interesting things to view in this museum from early history through winter sports equipment from many decades. I would say you could easily spend at least an hour here, perhaps more.

I made my wife walk up the hill to this little museum. She didn't kill me! The museum has a very friendly host at the front desk. We got the welcome talk and began to go room to room through this building that was once...More

I visited in Jan. with my husband and father, and the three of us loved it! So much to be learned in such a historic building, it made my appreciation for this tiny town grow!

Visit the museum and purchase a copy of "Walking Telluride." This self-guided tour of the town was one of the highlights of our trip.

With innovative displays and professional signage, this gem of a historical museum covers Telluride's history from the prehistoric through the present. Don't miss the outdoor mining exhibit and the kid's sluice to pan for treasures.

As it's a historical museum housed in a historic building I'd doubt it, but perhaps if it was a service dog?? Give them a call.
