More than a collection of items from the Sterling area/Logan County families over the decades, this museum also has: 1) an exhibit on electricity and technology's arrival in the rural county; 2) a beautifully landscaped courtyard filled with several buildings moved to the museum grounds and containing decor and displays from a bygone era; and 3) a caboose and train... This is an outstanding little museum. It is a local museum with lots of history from northeastern Colorado. There is a small town with buildings from the last 100+ years available to tour. They host a fantastic pioneer school for children in the summer, 4th of July activities and Christmas activities (roasting chestnuts, singing carols, etc.). Fascinating and well worth... More

It never grows old visiting the local history. This museum offers a wide display of local memorabilia. Some is found in the main buildings and some found in actual old buildings moved onto the site such as an old school, an old general store, an old barber shop and a church to name a few. Also have seen the site... More

The museum was very interesting and we especially enjoyed walking outside and visiting each of the buildings- barbershop, general store, church, school, etc., in their original forms.

This little gem was across from the Best Western Sundowner so I decided to go and see what it was about. It is $3 to get in, which is super cheap for all you get to see; plus you get a wooden nickel!! So cool. The little village behind the main museum entrance is chock full of things to see.... More

This is such a beautiful musem. I have no idea how such a small town could afford to have created such a world-class historical park. American Pickers would love this place!

For a small museum, this is a must visit. Great period displays, buildings, farm equipment, etc. They also have a very nice petroleum history building. Property also includes an old home, chapel, school, blacksmith shop and other interesting things.

The museum has something for everyone. It has an old time village with a school, church, general store, gas station, and stone house. The education center has hands on experience for a tornado, the great dust bowl and many more attractions. Kids can try their hand at gold panning. The barn has many exhibits from by gone days. The cost... More

Quite a large display for a small town. This museum exposes visitors to the history of Sterling and the surrounding high desert. Great display of arrow heads and a rock collection donated by a local rockhound. Outside is a collection of farm implements from days gone by, a blacksmith shop, school house, barber shop, and well I don't want to... More
