This park consists of the flat irons which is incredible. The drive is definitely nail biting from gypsum.

We did this as our last little day trip in Colorado....the Flat Irons are something that shouldn't be missed. It was a scary drive to get up but the views were second to none.

The west side of Rabbit Ears Pass is reserved for skiing and snowshoeing, while the East side is for snow mobiles. It is a super place to get out in the forest. There are several loops and most of them are moderate to advanced. You should take water and a few back country essentials with you. If you don't want... More

We aren't big hikers or bikers but we were still able to enjoy the view and had the opportunity to see a lot of animals free in nature. This is a big Forest and roads were surprisingly well-maintained for Winter. Beautiful views

We didnt go deep into it. We just stayed at the road. A small storm came in and we left. We were at about 9000 feet. It was very clean and well maintained.

We drove around on the jeep trails and totally enjoyed the scenery. The wildlife was all around and we enjoyed one of the local game wardens telling us where to see more wildlife and a great spot to eat in Walden.

This national forest is not the easiest to access but is really worth it. The views are good and the campgrounds are well maintained.
