Grizzle-T Dog & Sled Works is a dog sledding tour business located in Steamboat Springs, CO. Family owned and operated by Iditarod Musher, Kris Hoffman and his wife Sara. In business since 1996, we offer both “Learn to Drive” dog sledding tours where we bring you out and teach you how to drive your own team (typically 2 people/sled with one starting as the driver and 1 being the passenger and then switching half way around the trail) or “Guide Driven” tours where we drive the sleds for you and you can just sit back and relax and enjoy the beautiful Colorado mountains at the speed of dog. Our 12.5mile backcountry trail is located on a private ranch just west of Steamboat. Our pristine (groomed) trail snakes through Colorado’s mountainous ranch country traversing over ridgelines, through canyons, open meadows, and everything in-between. Views include the Flat Tops Wilderness Area, Sleeping Giant, The Zirkles, The Steamboat Ski Area, the Valley and much more...with the occasional spotting of wildlife!

These guys really know how to run their business and love their dogs. Everything- from the first look at their website to the last goodbye- was a pleasurable experience. I found them through Springboat website when we were looking for the outdoor activities while there on the wedding weekend. We were very lucky that the region got big snow around... More

My entire family had a blast at Grizzle-T! We were all a bit nervous about driving, but we received great instruction and there was always a guide nearby. Even my 90 pound, 13 year old driver had no problem. Riding in the sled was almost as much fun as driving. The scenery was beautiful and the dogs were amazing. It... More

Enjoyed meeting the dogs prior to departure, all very friendly. The actual sledding was much easier than expected. Good distance, about 6 miles prior to changing drivers. Sled was well designed to keep the rider warm. Only disappointment may have been the cramped van ride, or waiting for so many others to go before us.

From the pick up to the drop off this was such a great time. Amy, Cody, and Mike were so friendly and knowledgeable. It was a beautiful ride and we LOVED the interaction with the dogs, we were introduced to each dog and told about their personalities, they were all so sweet. We even got a special treat of one... Really great experience. Amazing, encouraging, warm, enthusiastic staff (Hi, Ashley!). And oh my god, the dogs! The sight of them all getting themselves psyched up for a morning's journey was truly one of the most astonishing experiences I can recall. But all that is just preparation. What happens once you're out in the vast expanse of open foreverness is just... More

My two sons and I had a great day, adventurous but comfortable. One of a kind opportunity and we can't wait to show off our pictures.

Enjoyed a morning of dog sledding over spring break. We were looking for something different to do with our teenage kids ages 14, 15, 16 and 17 and this was Fantastic! We had never done this before and the guides were excellent. The kids drove the sleds with no problems. Overall, an excellent experience and would do it again!

From greeting the dogs and getting to know the staff, to an exhilirating ride through the Colorado forest, we had a BLAST! My husband and I are dog lovers, and this fulfilled all our expectations. The staff at Grizzle-T really took the time to explain each dog's history and their own personal adventure with the sport. I am a teacher... More
