The only one left! Worth the trip to the east central side of the island. it is very close to the abbey and to Cherry Tree Hill. it is actually on the same road just a few miles apart. The highlight of my Wife's visit.

On a recent business trip my host took me on a quick tour of the island during which we visit this sugar mill and also the monastery Both really interesting and an insight into the history of Barbados. BUT the most amazing moment of the trip was on the road to cherry tree hill there is a spot where it... More

I went to this mill back in 1995 and have been there every year since,it was pressing sugar cane some years but that stopped for a while but I think it is back working now.I would say it is worth a visit if you are in the area,it is an interested drive along the east coast.

I didn't realize until doing this tour how much wind power was used in auger cane crushing or the large number of windmills on this island. You will see the stone towers with nothing on top everywhere but here you can see what one should look like. We spent 15 minutes here which is plenty. Take pictures.

The mill itself was shut for renovations, however you could take pictures of the mill itself and some of the machinery lying about, the drive up there was lush and green,a and very scenic

See the Windmill on one of the numerous tours that are available. You will be surprised at the actual size of this, and it is a great photo opportunity when you get to the top of the Mountain

My suggestion is to see this location as part of another tour as I did. Amazing rustic views of tractors and working windmill. An unusual sight for someone from Massachusetts. Hopefully you will enjoy. Great photo opportunity.

We didn't get to stop here, but drove by and snapped a few pictures as we were told about mill. Not worth the drive alone, but worth a detour if it's not already on the way

This is a large windmill very similar to those found in Holland for grinding grain but this one was used to mill sugar cane. It is now being restored as a heritage site.
