On a recent trip to Colorado, we hiked the Rifle Arch Trail, a round trip of approx 3.6 miles and an altitude rise of 8-900 ft. from around 6000 ft.
The trail head is marked and easily found along the road, with good parking available and the trail path is clearly evident.
As a couple of healthy, active 60 year olds, we found the hike to be invigorating and challenging without being overtly difficult or taxing, esp. with the aid of our trekking poles.
The views are gorgeous and it was great to see the plant and wildlife up close! Hike this trail!

Don't be put off by the first steep hill of this hike. It is short and then becomes an easy trail up to the bottom of the mountain face below the arch. Look closely to your right as you get to get the flat part of the trail to spot the arch in mountain. Once at the foot of he mountain face, it is a steep climb through boulders to get inside the arch. The views from here ar amazing.

We took this 2.8-mile round trip hike in December. The trail was well-marked and the Arch is a site to see. I could not imagine hiking this is the height of summer, but for fall through spring, it was very enjoyable for our entire family.

The wife and I enjoy this hike in the mornings when it is cooler out and less bugs but getting to the arch makes it all worth it. Bring water and a snack and enjoy a relaxing conversation on one of the benches along the way.

Rifle Arch Trail was about 7 miles north out of town, but an excellent quick hike if you need to move your legs and get some fresh air. This trail me a little over an hour there and back. It offers nice views to the south, but is fairly exposed to the elements. The arch itself is pretty big and the entire rock face adjacent is impressive.

This is a great spot for pictures. This hike is mostly gentle but has a few challenging places. Great for a early morning workout or just a evening walk.

the R Arch is a low-key but scenic and rarely-crowded trail not too far up and north of Rifle. A local Boy Scout Troop maintains the trail and you gotta hand it to 'em: it is a good well-marked trail. The end of your trip to view the Arch up close is about 1.5 miles -- and it's not an easy hike. Do pack fluids and snacks. I used to RUN the trail and this is recommended for trail runners -- but not long -- I'd add a couple out-&-backs (adjoining dead-end trails) to make an even 4 miles.

This is an easy and enjoyable hike, with a good reward at the end in the form of an interesting geographic formation. Worth a visit.
