Great 4 x 4 drive

This will put your 4x4 driving skills to the test! Lots of great scenery and rocks to take your 4x4 over. It is more fun in a RZR or an ATV. We went all the way over to Park... read more

This will put your 4x4 driving skills to the test! Lots of great scenery and rocks to take your 4x4 over. It is more fun in a RZR or an ATV. We went all the way over to Park Creek which is on the other side of Wolf Creek Pass and went to the ole mining town of Summitville. Fun... More

My mother-in-law requested to take this trail in my Jeep as her birthday present. We took the top down and had a great time! I am a intermediate 4WD driver at best, was very thankful for the reassurance of my winch and my husband's coaching. It was beautiful weather and a peace trail. We made some great memories!

After spending a couple days riding the passes around Silverton, and relaxing in Pagosa Hot Springs, we needed one more day of riding before heading home. A few google searches later, we had settled on Elwood Pass. The trailhead looked to be just 15-20 minutes North up the 160 from Pagosa. I'd read all about the water crossings and potential... More

Drive ten miles east out of Pagosa Springs to East Fork campground. This is the road to Elwood Pass. It starts out very easy and after the high clearance sign you'd best be an intermediate level 4-wheeler. As you get higher, it's more technical and super fun for an advanced Rubicon driver but maybe not so much for the less-skilled.... More

Great scenery, alpine meadows, beautiful river. A coupe of old buildings to explore along the way. Silver Falls is worth stopping for, though not for long due to the mosquitos. We snapped a couple of pictures and ran back to the ATV. It is worth mentioning that crossing the river, at least at this time of year (June), is serious... More

My family took a six seater ATV to Elwood Pass which the trails are perfect for. It is a very scenic trail with views of the river all the way thru. If you stop at the out house and small building next to it, there is a short hike up to Silver Falls.

Pack a lunch and enjoy the nice views. The family will love the river crossings. Bring or rent off road toys and spend the day on the trail. Elwood pass has waterfalls and plenty of wild life to see.

The trail was nice but not challenging enough. The scenery was good along the Rast Fork River. About half way through the road was extremely rocky. We have a Polaris Razor 1000 and have taken it many places. We decided to trailer it to Silverton,Co.

We rented 4 Person ATVS from Pagosa Springs RV and ATV rental. Daryl and Tammy helped us rent brand new 4 person Kawasaki ATVs. The drive was fun and the views were amazing. We stopped at the top of Elwood Pass at a picnic table and had lunch. There are birds there that will swoop down and eat right out... More

We went as far as Silver Falls and decided that was far enough. The falls are quite spectacular and are only a short walk from the primitive parking spot. Take the high trail and press on up steam until you see the bug fails. Do not settle for the Rapids in the rushing stream. The road is a real challenge... More
