Very pretty drive!

Beautiful scenery and an easy, relaxing drive. Don't have to have a jeep for this drive...car accessible in July.

Just beautiful, my puppies loved the long walk! It is definitely worth hiking. The trail is surrounded by mountain and the view is breath taking. This is my third time at the River Trail would highly recommend .

Long drive up FR 600 but was worth the effort with spectacular sights. Trail head parking was nice with a sign in sheet on entry and departure--a first for us!! We did see a mountain lion cat on our way up, beautiful creature!! Trail a long the river was easy, with great vistas and flowers and wild life to be... More

This is one of those trails to meander along the river bank, enjoy the cliffs and rocks, take a picnic, lot's of water. Go as far as your comfortable. It's not steep and is well marked.

We loved hiking on the Piedra River Trail! The trail is an easy hike, not as difficult as others we've been on in Pagosa. There is lots of poison ivy along the trail, pants might be best. Absolutely beautiful trail and worth it!

We initially intended to take the shorter trail called ice cave ridge but there were no markers so we ended up doing the longer trail. Only made it to bridge before turning back.

We enjoyed a great hike along the river on a partly-sunny day. There were a few spots on the trail where you had to climb over a fallen tree, but it was gorgeous.

We hiked both ends of this trail. Both are beautiful. We are not frequent hikers, so we chose some short day hikes after a few days to adjust to the altitude. Everyone in the family enjoyed themselves. We are used to encountering other hikers, and when we went, we had the trail to ourselves. We tended to hike either early... More

We've done this hike three times and it is exhilirating. The trail climbs up a ridge and then descends into the canyon with amazing views along the way. Took our kids eac time and they loved it as well.

I was a little nervous about hiking at 8,200 feet only a day after arriving from 2,000 feet, but it was a needless worry. I WAS breathless, but only from the scenery. This is a fantastic hike, with new beauties around ever bend. Be sure to take a camera (and be careful of your footing as you take pictures). The... More
