Beautiful waterfall...

Nice easy hike to a very nice waterfall. Photogenic landscape and interesting walk up. Not difficult and trail makes it easy and enjoyable. Trail is about a mile and a half.

Not far from the ice park is a well-marked, easy and short trail to the Box Canyon Falls. Even with two feet of snow having fallen in the previous few days the path wasn't that hard to negotiate and there plenty of handrails and informative signs along the way. The half-ice half free falling water was an amazing sight! Can't... More

Frozen in winter, The falls are beautiful cascading ice formations. They provide for ice climbing competitions.

We didn't get far.... there was a huge snow storm the night before we got into town and finding the trail was very difficult. However, it was very close to the southwest side of town we were staying on, so we walked over and tried to get as far as we could. If you go in the winter... just remember... More

That's right , drive in , park , and enjoy. It is an amazing natural feature that makes for unforgettable family fotos. While you are here make sure and walk up the road so you can see the ice climbers at the ice park . Now , If you still want more adventure, drive up the same road that takes... More

If you visit Ouray, be sure to take the time to go visit the falls. The walk is not especially stressful, so give it a try.

You are very unlikely to have seen any spot quite like this. The fall is its own spectacle, in its own spectacular setting and at its best when the stream has heavy water flow. I don't want to describe it more and spoil it - if you're in Ouray, do definitely go see it. But in addition to the waterfall,... More

This canyon is a easy walk from anywhere in Ouray and is well worth the walk. It costs only $4 a person. The trail walk is easy to the canyon. It is one of the only waterfalls that we have ever seen that is in between large canyon walls. It is amazing how water has carved out the canyon rock... More

Box Canyon falls was amazing. The gorge is narrow and the water is thundering through the narrow space. There are many steps to get up to see the top of the canyon, well worth the energy. You can see the falls from the bottom if you are not able to do the stairs. Easy drive from town with close parking.... More

Came to the Box Canyon Waterfall 17 years ago. It was interesting to see how it has changed. A little disappointed that you cannot get any closer. The hike up to the bridge and tunnel are definitely worth it. The view is not great of the falls from the bridge but you get a better ideas how far down it... More
