Lower Cascade Falls makes a pleasant, minimally challenging hike for adults, kids and dogs on a leash. If you hike during winter, wear good snow boots. And, if so motivated, bring a dollar or two to donate. The City of Ouray works hard to provide nice access to natural space for visitors.

This is our second trip to this area and the first time we were here we completely missed this place. Easily over shadowed by Box canyon falls , this place was easily accessible and made for some great foto opportunities. You can even climb up and walk behind the water fall . There is also a small cave that is... More

Tall falls, not much water. Did not take the hiking trail across the bridge. Too cold to walk through the woods on this afternoon.

I slight walk back to see it, but it is worth taking the time to see. Very peaceful and just a place to bring the family.

Just few minutes' walk from the main road, the majestic nature is in full power. High steep mountain and a waterfall which this time in a year doesn't carry a large amount of water, impressive still!

We went in Oct so not too exciting but since it was 1 min drive from town we went there and it was a short hike and good for some pictures.

We stopped in Ouray to see the falls while driving the Million Dollar Highway scenic byway. Fortunately, we could see the waterfall from a distance from several points around the town, because we couldn't get close to it. We drove up 8th Street to the parking area but it was all parked up and there was nowhere to stop. There... More

Some spots can be dicey, but not scary, just wear the right shoes. The view down into the valley is beautiful, without having to climb like a mountain goat for a great perspective.

It's a short but steep hike up to the lower Cascade falls. Very scenic. You can continue on the Perimeter trail for a longer hike.

We climbed down from the Ouray Perimeter Trail to the Lower Cascade Falls. It's a very popular spot on a fall Saturday with good reason. It's possible to get up close and even climb into the water.
