About
Covered Bridge Ranch is a family owned and operated ranch situated in the productive valley of Southwestern Colorado at the base of the San Juan mountain range. We are located near Montrose, Colorado and home to Colorado Conifers wholesale tree nursery and Christmas tree farm. Our scenic 300-acre ranch is also the site for festive events such as the popular family traditions, Christmas Trees at the Covered Bridge and Pumpkins at the Covered Bridge. There is much to be discovered here!

My kids, nephews, sis in law, and I had a great time together at covered bridge ranch. The hamster wheel was a huge hit with our kids! Pumpkins everywhere, and the scenery was so beautiful. A little muddy, next time we will wear rubber boots, it happened to be a little rainy the days before we went. I especially loved the ride around the ranch with the tractor. The Longhorns were my favorite! Face painting was free, and all the kids got one :) but please remember to leave a tip 👍

We are so glad we found this place - it's a MUST DO if you have little ones and want to visit a real pumpkin patch; pet goats, roast marshmallows, have fun with crafts and take a hay ride with a Clydesdale horse leading the way. Everywhere we looked it was "fun" and the children just loved being here. Probably the cleanest port-o-let I've ever been in. We chose our own pumpkin and cut it from the vine. The beautiful Sunflowers were enormous and the heads of cabbage were huge!!! We just loved the time we spent here and the drive from Telluride was beautiful. (Watch your speed in Ridgeway - 3 people were pulled over as the limit goes to 30mph real quick). This ranch has the pumpkin patch event as well as Christmas tree event. So if you're anywhere near this little diamond in the rough; take it all in..... it's worth the drive and it's worth seeing so many smiles.

We have very much enjoyed our autumn visits here to their pumpkin patch, but our Christmas tree expedition left our pocketbook lighter and just was not great.
The Good: This is a rural property about 20 minutes outside of Montrose. There is a scenic covered bridge. There are a number of farm animals to visit while there. There is a spacious but somewhat sparse gift shop (heated) in a nice wooden building. The lady working the cash register was super sweet. There are longhorn cattle in a fenced area of the property which are truly magnificent animals.
The not so good: The roads throughout the property are super muddy to drive and walk on. Yes there was a bit of snow last night so the roads were wet but it seems as tho hay or something could be put down. They were simply not well maintained. Be prepared to have very, very muddy shoes. That could have been somewhat overlooked but / the prices!!!! I was shocked at the cost of the trees. I cannot imagine that most families could afford a tree here. A Christmas tree tag from the Forest Service I believe is about $10 and you will pay ten times that much at Covered Bridge.
Another issue was the “hot chocolate”. $3 for a small cup would have been ok if we gotten what we ordered, but it was in all honesty a cup of hot water with maybe two teaspoons of liquid hot chocolate mixed in. Then at the very bottom of the cup was a bit of granular chocolate sludge. This was insulting. It was a cold day snd s decent cup of hot chocolate would have been nice.
I’m sorry to say I cannot recommend coming here for the Christmas tree experience. We were very disappointed at the outrageous cost of the trees and the sad chocolate flavored watery beverage wrongly called hot chocolate. I would recommend going elsewhere.

We are sorry to hear of your experience. We have made many improvements!! There is no entry fee to enjoy all of our holiday experiences for you and your family. That said, we have lowered our prices on the most popular Scotch Pine Christmas tree!! CHRISTMAS TREES at the Covered Bridge is a full range of holiday experiences and is a "cut and cut your own Christmas tree" operation. Although we have trees available on stands for the convenience of our customers who do not wish to go into our tree fields, the majority of participants enjoy taking a tractor and wagon ride out to our fields to roam the fields where the trees are growing and select their own perfect Christmas tree. Most of the holiday season the fields are dry. However, tree fields are susceptible to weather such as snow or rain, cold or warm, dry or muddy. We do recommend to our customers to dress appropriately for the outdoor experience. With respect to the hot chocolate, we have changed our hot chocolate recipe and hope that now each hot chocolate is perfect. Our gift shop is seasonal so if you come toward the end of our season the shopping may be more sparse. However, we fill our gift shop with loads of Christmas ornaments at the beginning of our season - OPENING DAY is the day after Thanksgiving. In addition to our wagon rides and Christmas tree fields, we offer a wreath decorating barn, gift shop, petting zoo, smore's at the two camp fires and hay mountain climb. Potted trees and pre-cut trees are also available. Coming to CHRISTMAS TREES at the Covered Bridge is a special unique and wonderful family holiday experience that we hope everyone will try!

We went for a Christmas tree last December. It was our first visit and we will go back every year from now on. Even without snow it was a wonderful experience from the magnitude to the gift shop.

Our family has made a tradition of getting out Christmas trees here.
We have a lot of fun from the tactor rides out to the trees and cutting them. It has always been a great exprience. Looking forward to the next time we are there.

We went to get a Christmas tree and I expected some of the set up but was impressed by all the activities they had. You could easily spend a better part of the day there, especially with kids.

We went and cut our own tree. It was huge. Great place to take the kids Christmas tree shopping. Tree was so fresh it would have lasted until February.

This was our second year there. Wonderful trees and a real fun family atmosphere! The blue spruce tree we got this year was huge and lasted long!

This is a beautiful property. Admission is $7 per person.
There is lots for little ones to do. I would say activities are geared more towards very young to young children. There is a petting zoo (beautiful animals to pat/feed), hay bale maze, spider web ropes to crawl on, cute obstacle course, tire swing, slides and a really cool dried corn 'sandbox' that the little ones absolutely love! There is a concession stand to buy food/drinks or food to feed livestock. Included in admission is a hay ride over the covered bridge through the pines with various things placed in the woods along the way for kids to look for such as pumpkin spiders, ghosts and a visit from the headless horseman who gallops up on horseback. One caveat for those with little ones, there are a couple different trailers for the hay ride....wait for the one with the bench seats and side rails as the ride is fairly bouncy! You really have to hold on on the open one ( no side rails) with the hay bale 'seats' and it would be hard to hold little ones at the same time.
Also included are marshmallows to toast over a wood fire. S'mores fixings are extra.
There is a large pumpkin patch where you can pick your own pumpkin at 50 cents per pound.
There is also a farmstand with beautiful gourds, white pumpkins, assorted squash and pretty Indian corn.
A nice place to spend a couple hours...especially if you have little ones!
