Discovered in 1881, Cave of the Winds has been a premier Colorado attraction for more than a century. Explore amazing caverns, experience total cave darkness, and marvel at the beauty of formations hundreds of thousands of years old. Then step outside and walk on the wind on the Wind Walker Challenge Course, fly like a bat on the Bat-a-Pult Zip Line, and dive into Williams Canyon on the one of a kind aerial dive ride, the TERROR-Dactyl. Lots of family fun, amazing views and memories to last a lifetime!

Our guide kept us entertained, and the cave kept us warm on a cold November morning. The bucket lantern tour is not for people with mobility limitations, bad backs or knees...but really cool to see the caves in candlelight like they did over 100 years...More

Did he Lantern Tour which was historically cool and entertaining. The ghost stories were fun. The Terror-Dactyl was amazing! Worth every penny!

John the Hippie is a great entertainer and guide. Very animated and keeps you amused and on your toes during the entire voyage. It’s a cool experience that you won’t forget or regret. You will have to suffer a small bit going through some spots...More

Always enjoy going to the Cave in the Winds. My favorite part is the complete darkness part... you will never experience in your life.

We did our tour with John (The Hippie). He’s as much an entertainer as a tour guide. My 12 year old was excited to use the lantern but the tour stories put it over the top.

I'd never been to this cave even though I've been to Colorado Springs dozens of times. I was glad we decided to do drive up and take a tour on a day that outside activities weren't great due to excessive wind. The tour guide was...More

Hi Sherlb! Thank you for asking. The average time to do the Discovery Tour and all of the rides would be about 2 - 2.5 hours. However, if you plan on coming in the summer, specifically July, it could take closer to 4 hours... More
