This park is great for kids to play on the playgrounds. Plenty of shady spots, picnic tables and covered pavilions. The train is great for all ages it's a short and slow ride for only .75 cents. It's also connected to the city beach and Benson sculpture gardens. This is a great place for the family to spend an entire day outside on a tight budget.

There is a nice roped off swim area! Makes you feel like you're at a mini beach, while still in the beauty of Colorado! We took some inner tubes out there, which were fun to float around in as well.

I grew up in Loveland and this large park has grown and been around a long time. Love going there and feeding the ducks and geese day old bread. Watch the bird poop on the ground though! They have lots of play equipment, fishing, public restrooms, grass areas (watch the bird poop!) and sculptures down at the pond area, a beach by the lake, lots of big picnic areas and even a little train in the summer (you would have to search for the hours it runs) A bonus would be the Benson Sculpture Park north across the street to take a leisurely walk and enjoy the 148 plus sculptures! I have enjoyed it many years with my family and by myself!

The view of the lake is one of the best in Loveland. The park is nice but do not get into the water. They have had to shut it down more than once due to E. Coli. Seriously, don’t swim here.

Our grand-kids really enjoy playing on the play equipment at North Lake Park and riding the little train when it's available. Feeding the ducks and geese in the pond is a very special thing to do (gotta watch out for goose poop though!). Bathrooms are available by the park, so that is convenient (so is a water fountain).

The best spot for family swimming in Northern Colorado is the beach. The water is warm and the sand is soft. Squint your eyes and use your imagination, and you could be on a summer beach vacation in Colorado! We love this place.

I'm a native of Northern Colorado. I remember having a picnic at North Lake Park in about 1968 and it was great. In later years, I lived about 8 blocks away from the park. Highly recommend.

Great place to stop for picnic, walk around lake, look at art and a trail ride not just for kids. Train is cute for short ride.

we visited twice in our short stay
sunsets were pretty but the wind came in hard
our picnic lunch was the park across (dewayne Webster veteran's park). it was sunday so families had reunions. we found the smaller picnic shelter which still had great views.
we walked part of the lake to burn off calories. at high noon, the sun is strong but there was a breeze.
