The dog Park is pretty cool. There's even a small River and a pond for the dogs to swim in. I would strongly suggest it for those who want to let your dogs run free.

Wow! The dog park here is awesome! There are 69 acres for dogs to run around!! You pay $8 for the entrance to the state park and $2 for the dog park. It’s well worth it! Tons of trails, woods, and 2 ponds!!!

We spent an enjoyable afternoon here kayaking and paddle boarding. One thing to be aware of however is later in the afternoon when the sun starts to go down, the mosquitos come out in droves. Either take repellant or head home!

I was surprised that after paying for a campsite and hook-ups fees, I still had to pay to use the showers. It was only .50 for 3 minutes, but you had to have quarters. The change machine didn't work. I have been to RV parks...More

This was probably our 4th or 5th camping trip to Chatfield. Everything is very satisfying: although in Denver you are not aware of the city around you, scenery with mountains, campground site with large space, paved roads, concrete and level pads, extra clean pads and...More

Chatfield SP is a really nice RV park with good accommodations. We used the park as a homebase for a couple days while visiting. Our gripes: (1) No bathroom on our loop of sites (we rode our bikes back and forth to the nearest one)....More

We stayed 2 nights here and enjoyed it. The sites are laid out in loops so you have plenty of room and privacy. Park station was out of firewood and our site's fire ring was too close to our camper. Recommend looking at the sites...More

Alcoholic beverages may not exceed 3.2% by volume at this park. It is not uncommon to see rules like this in the rules and regulations of state parks. IMHO be discrete and quiet and you should not have any problems.

For a sure answer call Colo. State Parks 303-791-1920. I have never gone without a reservation, but I think that unreserved sites can be occupied if available.
