Due to the altitude, the hike up to hanging lake is semi-challenging for a non-hiker like me, but it was so worth it! On the way up there is beautiful scenery and vistas and when you get to the top, the lake is beyond gorgeous....More

Hiked this trail on a day off from hiking 14ers. We started early in the morning to avoid the crowds. On the way back noticed some people with small children. I doubt they made it to the top!

Too many people. Hard to park. Beautiful once you get there. I would go early if you can to beat the crowds

Most reviews tell you to get there early but we are not early risers so we arrived about 3:30 pm and there was plenty of parking on a Tuesday in August. When we arrive at 11, the lot was full with a long line to...More

This was one of the hardest climbs we have done in Colorado but it was well worth the effort. Get there early, before 7:30 AM if you want to get in.

It took about 2 hours to go up and down the trail. It was a lot of uphill and stair like rocks, but totally worth the energy!

My husband and I did this hike twice in two days since the first day was too sunny for my husband to get the photographs he wanted. It took us an hour going up with fairly heavy packs and about 45 minutes to come down...More

It will be cold then, but pretty sure the trail is open year round. The surrounding weather and roads would be the only limitations if it has snowed a lot. Check the roads with CDOT. Any precipitation on the trail would... More
