Well worth the hike. Hm, not quite worth the four hour drive (and four hrs. back home.)

I LOVED this hike. It was beautiful ALL the way up and ALL the way down! The "Hanging Lake" at the top was lovely. There was a park ranger at the top, so I asked him, "Why do... read more

I LOVED this hike. It was beautiful ALL the way up and ALL the way down! The "Hanging Lake" at the top was lovely. There was a park ranger at the top, so I asked him, "Why do they call it Hanging Lake?" and he answered, "It's named after the hanging garden moss that hangs from the waterfalls." But if... More

The trial is well maintained and beautiful. The Lake itself is absolutely stunning. The parking is limited so I would recommend being early to ensure parking. We went on a Sunday in September and got there at 7am and the parking lot was more than half way full. By the time we reached the lake it was close to 9am,... More

Just a great location with a nice peaceful feeling after it. You will have difficulty getting a car park so either come early or be prepared to wait for someone to leave. Be aware the you can only enter from the west and depart to the west, so stopping en-route means driving west to the Grizzly Creek Trail to turn... More

Note: NO bathrooms except at the bottom (advise using the ones by the parking lot; not the pit toilets at the bottom). And, this is the Super Highway of trails, so plan accordingly. (it would be tough to 'duck behind something to pee if you are a girl, but could be possible!). Only 1.2 miles, but nearly 1200ft elevation gains;... More

I highly recommend experiencing Hanging Lake. The hike is one mile and very steep. So for me, at 5'3, it felt like I was doing lunges. I stopped a few times to regroup but finally made it. Absolutely stunning! I liked walking behind the waterfall.

Being warned beforehand that the hike up to Hanging Lake was rated "difficult" was a bit of a concern for my husband and I. We decided to give it a try anyway. We come prepared with bottled water and a few snacks. Yes, we stopped along the way (too many times to count), but we kept going. The view of... More

This is a beautiful place! Well worth the hike. Now, that being said, it is NOT an easy hike!! I was perplexed by those who were hiking in flip flops and those who seemed to be having a lot of problems breathing. TAKE WATER!!

As someone said, this is not a hike for the faint of heart. Wow! It is 1.2 miles up which means it is 1.2 back down and it's all uphill over rock. We saw people with dress boots and sandals trying to climb it. Ridiculous! It is a very difficult hike but we felt like it was worth it but... More

My husband and I hiked this a few days ago and consider it the highlight of our trip. We are flatlanders from Michigan and this was a difficult hike. You climb almost 1,000 ft in about a mile of trail. Some parts of the trail are difficult due to climbing up high steps cut into rocks. I have a little... More

Short but difficult hike. Quick elevation change but worth the effort. I've hikes it many times and still enjoy the beauty that this place offers. Parking at the trail head is horrible.
