We did the horsetooth mountain hike and it was wonderful! Definitely a challenge once you got closer to the top but a decent challenge for moderately experienced hiker. Beautiful views!

Hiking can be short or a long hike. Great views of Fort Collins. Parking can be difficult. The parking lot can fill up on spring break day or weekends.

Let me first start with I am 57 years old and NOT in any kind of shape. There are different trails, but all seem to have a lot of walking up. We ended walking 3.7 miles in an hour and 45 minutes. I was a little out of breath to start but got easier. Don't eat a big breakfast before... More

Horsetooth is the symbol of Fort Collins. The rock formation is visible from almost anywhere in the city and Horsetooth Ave. provides a straight line view. It is the best place to find yourself immersed within the nature. The peacefulness makes you never wanting to leave. There are many rest stops along the drive providing amazing view and small hiking trails. I have been here during most of the meteor shower events (usually in fall) and hands down, no other experience will be worth to this!

Hike is short but the uphill part can be difficult. It could have just been because we were hot and tired. My husband and I decided to check out this trail after biking for 7 miles. I wouldn't go on this trail in the dead of summer because the water for the falls will be all dried up. Learned that... More
