A step back in time. Nicely remodeled, comfortable accommodations. Ate dinner on site as well. Was delicious and reasonably priced. Great location downtown for everything downtown.

This venue is nice but the show we saw was not. We paid $30 per ticket to see four mediocre people perform for the whole evening. It was redundant, the costumes did not change and the whole performance became boring after intermission. Drinks at the bar were outrageously priced and very small. In the past these performances were really fun... More

Bought two dinner-show packages for the Strater Hotel Durango Western Music and Vaudeville Show without reading reviews of the show. Dinner was great (we chose the trout almondine) but the show was mostly painful to watch and we left at intermission. Hardly anyone was in the tiny theater. We were hoping for some old Western standards and instead got a... More

My family attended the Durango Western Music & Vaudeville Show last night and we tried to be more polite than others by waiting till intermission before we got up and walked out! The theater had very few people in attendance and the few that were there had a very hard time just trying to be nice. The songs were unrecognizable... More

I booked this in advance as I thought it would be something my developmentally disabled adult brother would enjoy. We had very good seats, given I booked very early. The cast were talented singers and/or musicians. The vaudville part was not terribly funny. Many of the numbers sung were written by the guitarist -- a little of that goes a... More

My family had tickets for a Saturday night show at the Theatre. We ate dinner at the Strater Hotel Mahogany Grill before the show. They actually offered to let us order dessert and they would send it over to the theatre for us. There's not a bad seat in the house in this old historic theatre. We saw an old... More

I have attended several concerts at the Henry Strater Theater and it is fun and funky. The building is beautiful - part of the historic Strater Hotel. There is an elegant bar in the lobby so you can buy drinks. The theater itself have comfortable portable chairs and a few small tables. Come early if you want to snag a... More

Although we have been staying at the Stater Hotel for 30 years, we had our first experience with the Stater Theatre. It is located down a hallway in the hotel and to the left. It is open seating, (about 240 people), a few table (go early), nothing fancy, gracious bar and great sound! We were there with friends for a... More

We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and saw a melodrama at the Henry Strater Theater. It was lots of fun. The food and service were excellent. The play (melodrama) was kind of cheesy but that IS what you expect. Between dinner and the show we toured the old hotel. It was fascinating. The craftsmanship is excellent and they have... More
