What else is in a forest besides trees ? More trees! Mostly very beautiful until coming to a diseased or burned area, then , not so good.

The National Forest drive is one of pure enjoyment. There are many areas to stop and view nature at it's finest. We packed a picnic basket and enjoyed lunch while watching deer frolic near us. Take your time, it is well worth it.

We drove through numerous places in the San Juan National Forest between Pagosa Springs, Durango, and Ouray. This is truly beautiful scenery of mountains and forests. Everyone should drive through here and hike at least once in your life. We will be back again!

Although there wasn't any snow when we visited, it was still beautiful. The Animas river runs through the forest and the scenery is just beautiful. I want to return during the summer and spend more time there.

Went out for a morning drive to look for wildlife. Got close & personal with a few deer while driving up & down the mountain (a few crossed in front of us).

What a beautiful ride in the San Juan Mountains. Our journey began in Durango, CO, with the beautiful trees along the route. The bright yellow leaves mixed with the reds and greens were just striking. The mountains faces were so unique as we climbed in...More
