This interesting hot springs is located at an easy turnoff of Hwy 550. About 15 minutes drive from Durango, CO. Water is definitely much warmer than the nearby Animas River but still more of a "Warm Springs" than a Hot Springs. Still well worth the...More

Husband and I stopped to see this on our trip to the area. It's located outside of Durango as you head up towards Purgatory. It's literally right on the side of the road and you just pull into the little turn out on the road....More

It's a bubbling hot spring literally next to the side of the road. Worth the short 15-20 minute drive from Durango to wander around and touch the water. Not the type of hot spring for bathing, though. Stay on Highway 550 and just look for...More

Its worth a quick pit stop even if it's not totally natural & it's just by the side of the road so easy to stop at.

Pull over and get out of the car, play in the warm water! Be sure to read the information about the Pinkerton's, it is very informative.

literally a roadside attraction. interesting to spend a few minutes at and take some pics. It is not a 'natural' spring (the mound was built up).

There are no signs to indicate this stop is coming up but it is easy to see it on the side of the road. We had to turn around. It is beautiful and the water is warm. Nowhere to swim but very cool to see.

Drove by to take some pictures and do a geocache. I bet it would look pretty in the wintertime! There were others there taking pictures as well.

Pinkerton Hot Spring is part of a larger group of springs just north and west of US 550 north of Durango. Look up the hillside and you’ll see two or three other springs seeping down the rock. Pull off on the east side of the...More

This is on the side of the road and is really cool to look at. Not a "destination" but nice roadside interest.
