The entire drive holds beautiful scenery, vistas, and clean air. Because Mt Evans has so much to offer, there can be a lot of traffic that the trip becomes as much about playing "dodgem" as enjoying the abounding wonders. Best to visit during slow hours and take time to get out of the car to walk on the many worthwhile... More

Great scenic drive, worth it. Great spots, to pull over take pictures or to get out and enjoy the atmosphere. Which ever you prefer.

I spent two summers as a teen working at the Mount Evans Crest House at the top of Mt. Evans. The pathway to this tourist included a paved road. The Crest House which included a diner and a gift shop has since burned to the ground. However, the ride is still worth it as it includes some of the most... More

We had a nice trip away from the city. The air is clean, the view: amazing. The altitude affects you but the experience is different for each person.

Rode up here on my motorcycle and it was a bit painful due to the slow traffic.Well worth the ride though. Amazing views and wildlife (the nature kind) on the way up and the view from the top is AWESOME! I liked it better than Pikes Peak just because it wasn't as busy or commercial. Stop in Idaho Springs at... More

The first thing that must be said is that Mt. Evans is higher than Pike's Peak. It is also the highest one way paved road in America. The fee is $15 per carload. You can ask for free passage if you absolutely do not set a single foot outside your vehicle. Halfway up is a little lake with some nice... More

This loop road is a close to town look at the high mountains. The road is free all the way including the spur to the top of Mt. Evans. If you're pressed for time but would like to see some of the high country you could do far worse than this. On top of it all, there are great dining... More

Views will take your breath away. You will most likely see Big horn sheep so bring the camera and walking shoes. Take your time to stop at the look outs to see wonderful scenery and take great pictures.
