It was a beautiful drive! View from the summit were breathtaking! Road is pretty narrow, have to be careful while driving. Saw a bunch of mountain goats on the way. once you pay the entree fees, there are two stops on the way to summit...More

Absolutely worth the drive!! Very beautiful! The kids were amazed at the temp change. They loved making snowballs in JULY!!!

Wow, what a drive! It starts off rather unassuming, but as it starts climbing the mountain and gaining elevation, the road can seem a bit scary. However, most of the road was in good shape, except for a rough patch near Summit Lake. Parking at...More

If you want a trip to see some very beautiful scenery you must visit Mount Evans. You have to pay at the gate to enter and it takes about 30 minutes to get up there once you pay but it's worth it. The road is...More

This was by far our favorite part of our trip to Colorado. Neither of us had ever been to the state and we actually chose to visit Mount Evans as a last minute decision. We drove as far as we could to the top and...More

This was an amazing adventure , but by car, not a hike! Not for the faint of heart! Mountain goats galore!!! The view is absolutely spectacular and the Rangers are extremely knowledgable. FYI for anyone that is a senior, 62+. The Golden Age National Park...More

If you have ever driven the Mount Washington auto road in New Hampshire, this is similar. Both have somewhat narrow roads without guard rails in most areas, but I found the view from Mount Evans to be more spectacular. When I left Denver the temperature...More

This is a beautiful destination! Pack your winter gear, as it gets cold at this altitude. We visited in August and needed jackets, hats, and gloves. See who will run to the top!!!

I drive up Mt. Evans and paid the national park fee. Some parts were scary but not as scary as Pikes Peak. Zero visibility at the summit but there were 4 sheep! I'll go back on a clearer day.

NO. The fact that you asked this question indicates you are good parents, but not familial with high elevation conditions in Colorado. It is better to go to a lower elevation where you are near a town with services you... More

Pretty sure they won't let you start after 4PM (there is a gate). But it isn't a road to drive after dark - no guard rails and 1000 foot drops and all...
