    Great Hub
Came in on the bus and walked right next door to catch the train to the airport. It was so nice to avoid having to use ride share to get to my airport area hotel. Fare was 10.50 and ticket at kiosk. The train was clean and quick.

    Denver's Living Room
We booked a tour with Rocky Mountaineer and our hotel ended up being in Union Station. Our guide from the train station to the hotel told us this place was in disrepair and was going to be torn down until some locals fought to save it. It's just a cool place, with restaurants, shops, the hotel, and oh yes, an actual train station. We read that this place is often referred to as Denver's living room, a great place to people watch. Our hotel stay included free coffee, free ice cream, and free drinks, so we patronized several of the establishments while taking advantage of our offers. We also walked around the area during the day and felt safe.

The security guards need to be trained on how not to be rude.
Union station is beautiful it's one of the best Union stations I've been in. I would have given it five stars but a boy that looked like he was 15 years old that was a security guard told me to get my bag off of the chair and when I asked him why he threatened to kick me out. He was like someone that would probably make a good nazi.

    Train Hub
Great link to airport with trains running every 15 minutes for $10.50 and a 30-40 minute ride on the A line.. Numerous food locations in station. Ranges from coffee/pastries to full breakfast. The ever popular terminal bar is also fun and active. Very clean with active security. Minutes from the Orford hotel Very highly recommended Slainte

    Fun and Beautiful
A beautiful building with lots of people watching opportunities. Clean, centrally located, and busy. You cannot sit in the beautifully furnished central area unless you are a patron of the hotel or other shops. I wish there was more dining!

    Denver Institution - Must See
Classic railroad station that still services Amtrak and a train to and from Denver airport. Lots of restaurants, bars, and other shops, in a well preserved, secure environment. Decorated for Christmas and that is very well done both inside and outside. Fairly easy access from anywhere in the downtown Denver area including by a free 16th St. bus that runs between Civic Center and Union Station, and is one block away from Union Station that takes about a minute and a half to get there by walking. I would suggest going both during the day and evening, but if you're only going to go once, I would go after dark to take in the Christmas lights and a laser light show on the front of the building.

Down memory lane of train transport
Felt like a trip back to art deco times, the main hall is lined with shops, eateries (e.g. Belgian waffles) and bars. Seeing people check in and out of the Crawford hotel reminded me of mystery novels and the joys of long distance train travel. Stopped by during happy hour for a cocktail on upper level.

    Wonderful building
The current station (from 1914) was built on the same spot where the previous one burned down in 1894. Inside the building is Crawford Hotel and many restaurants. They still do some renovation inside when we came to Denver but we still saw how beautiful the building is. The platform are very modern but I think it's not the best solution for only partial cover as when we waited for the train it was extremely hot and there was not enough shady places where to hide and sit. It would also help some indication/signage about coming and leaving trains and destinations. After spending a few days in Denver we travelled to Glenwood Springs but nowhere was an information which platform is the train departing from. We needed to ask several people. Inside was very busy, nearly all tables were occupied. It would help if there will be some information about taxi services as that seems to be problem there. You need to know the phone number because there is no permanent waiting bays for taxi outside the building - after about hour waiting in front of the building my husband went to the hotel reception and the receptionist kindly helped us. I gave only 4 starts to this review just because of missing information for tourists like us.

No understanding how this could be the #1 indoor attraction in Denver. We paid $10 to park for 20 min and rode up in an elevator puddled with urine. Upon entry, the security guard told us we had to buy something in order to use the bathroom. Then we realized the amount of homeless people occupying the place and why there were puddles of pee in the elevator. Overall, this place has a sad/weird vibe and not sure why it would be classified as something other than a glorified train station. Definitely not a place to “visit” except if you’re taking a train. Yuck!

This building is essentially the heart of the city. It has so much to offer. It has restaurants, stores, hotel, and transportation. I would highly recommend taking a tour while in the city to learn about the history of the this building and much more.

Recently I stopped into the fabulous Union Station for a cocktail at the Terminus Bar. We were appalled at the number of homeless allowed to squat in the main area. It is too bad the city of Denver cannot curb this problem. Not only are many homeless in the city, we residents cannot enjoy the fruits of the city without marijuana, homeless and lack of city struture.

I hadn’t been to Union Station in more than 10 years when it was just a shabby station that had virtually no services. We went in today and observed the amazing transformation. Clean, hip, updated with shopping, food options and trendy bars plus the luxury Crawford hotel. Security appears on top of ensuring the large (and sometimes scary) homeless population dies not accost legitimate patrons.

Walk around rather than through. Consider getting off at the Ball Arena station so you can avoid union station, especially the bus station.
Parking situation is horrible, if you're going to consider taking the amtrak somewhere rather than driving, it's pretty killer to pay as much in parking as you would a cheap plane ticket. Not often Denver should follow the lead of Baltimore, but that's the case here sadly.
If you're taking the Bustang or Snowstang west definitely use the Federal Center instead.

2020-January.

The Denver Union Station is divided into 2 sections.

The 1st one has railroad tracks that heads out to the airport.

Further north, are tracks that heads south and west.

The station is filled with gift shops, quick bite restaurants, charging tables, and benches. The high vaulted ceiling looks cool too!

Women's bathroom had 9 stalls and clean.

The station is constantly monitored so no homeless people will squat anywhere inside it.

If well designed buildings with detailed craftsmanship tickle your fancy, be sure to have your best eyes available. With three gorgeous blue windows to reflect the Denver sky and the bronco orange in the lighting, Union station screams Denver. One might notice the lions head atop of the supports going down to the overhang. No area left untouched with precision. A timeless standstill to the foundation of the city.

Very pretty place but not the place for a family on Friday night. We saw a pick pocket in action and a bunch of drunks, one who threw a drink after a screaming and cussing match. Didn't feel very safe. I would recommend visiting during the day.

When the historic Denver Union Station was renovated, they planned it first as a transportation hub. So stores and restaurants reflect the needs of travelers, as well as the local culture. Well done! Food service is fast, but it’s better than fast food chains. The large bar also reminds you of the nightlife in the neighborhood close to the station. It’s not just the stopping point for the Amtrak train between Chicago and the San Francisco area, it’s also where you get the commuter rail to the airport, many local bus lines, and within walking distance of many Denver attractions. So it’s busy, and it serves its busy travelers well with services they’ll appreciate as they hurry to their final destinations.

Went late after all the shops and restaurants there were closed except for a bar in the front. Large open vaultuous room with seating for variety and surrounded by the various shops almost like a mall. Light rail system stops here so you have all different types of people coming through. Had drinks from the bar and sat and people watched at around 9 or 10. Drink from the bar up front was gross - had liquid smoke or something in it. But it was strong so we got some real laughs just sitting and watching.
