Maybe the least functional museum building I've ever been in -- the DAM went for weird simply for the sake of being weird -- permanent collection is basically dull but they have frequent special exhibits that are often quite good -- too bad the Palettes Restaurant that has attached has gone from innovative to Sysco specials as that used to... The care and time taken to create the exhibits is very noticeable throughout the museum. This is a wonderful stop for anyone touring the area in need of a day indoors (especially if it's on a hot summer day). The rhythmic architecture of the building plays well with the rotating exhibits on the top floors. Loved the "Women of Abstract... More

I watched this addition to the DAM from it's beginning, from the selection of Daniel Libeskind as architect, to the excitement of watching the girders being placed, the the grand opening. Since then I have viewed every one of the "blockbuster" shows, every new display in the Photography Gallery, and most of the other changing exhibits. My favorites in the... More

They have a huge pre Columbian art collection and in fact many of the collections are large. Not a destination if you are into the top tier of global art... but ok for a regional museum. don't miss the Alan Houser sculptures

We have appreciated so many of the exhibits there over the past 5 years. One can easily spend many hours there. This month there is a fun interactive Dance Lab Experience that was enjoyed by all ages and abilities of participants and observers. Other exhibits currently are the Creative Crossroads Tapestry, Rhythm and Roots, and Women in Abstract Art exhibits.... More

First off , the building outside is incredible. Secondly , the fact it is free for kids 19 and under was amazing. The place wS so large we couldn't see it all but what we did see was incredible. The dance lab exhibit was so much and the teens had a blast doing that. The people were so friendly even... More

I spent around 2 hours here wandering around various exhibitions during a day trip to Denver. I hadn't planned to come to the museum but I'm glad I did. The building itself is (unsurprisingly!) a work of art with a huge number of rooms and levels. You could spend a long time exploring all the collections.

Western and Asian collections were small, but well represented. Native American collection was the most extensive, and most interesting.

This is such a beautiful and well thought out museum. We were lucky enough to see the dance exibit that just opened. Simply amazing. We had such a great time in a beautiful space. Our only wish is that we had more time there. We hope to be back. Well worth it and kids 18 and under are FREE!!!
