    Impressive
The museum is located downtown in an area called the cultural center. The building is impressive. While I only visited a few of the floors and exhibits I enjoyed my time here especially the Western American Art. Great place to spend a few hours.

I did not expect much but I have found gold!
Amazing museum! I was not expecting much, I had some spare time in Denver and thought why not? I even hesitated if it would be worth paying the full fare, but I am gad I decided to enter! The museum blew my mind, not only does the museum have an amazing collection of art but the spatiality of the building and also the interaction with the city is almost magical. In the end I was sad I did not have enough time to cover it all. The DAM should definitely be listed as a total must on your visit to the capital of Colorado!

    Better than I expected
I was flying out of Denver Airport in the afternoon and looking for something to do before my flight. I knew nothing about the Denver Art Museum but was very impressed. It was much larger than I expected, and unfortunately I was unable to see everything in the 2 hours I was there. They had art from many countries, as well as classic and modern art. There were multiple experts throughout the museum to give more information about certain works. If you go there I would recommend spending at least half a day there. Hopefully I will get the chance to go again

    Nice and clean museum
Located in a beautiful area. We were able to park right across the street in a lot for $15. I like that 18 and younger get in free. My husband and I were free b/c of the military. I’m not sure if that’s always the case. A lot to see. I saw a few kid zone areas. There are portable folding chairs for your convenience to sit at the art displays. There were plenty of seating in common areas. I believe restrooms and water fountains were on every floor. My favorite part was to be out on the terrace/rooftop to view the mountains and the city of Denver. Photography and videography are welcome, no flash.

    Plenty to see
A large museum, variety of art so only went to a few galleries and enjoyed them greatly. Nice to have local art/artists. Galleries quiet and staff not obtrusive. Would love to go back again to see more. Free locker for bags, near entrance. Restaurant open for dinner on Tuesday evenings only. Pretty good food.

    Outstanding Art Museum
This is a fabulous art museum and was, for me, the highlight of my visit to Denver. I spent 3 hours there, and I could have spent much more. If I lived closer, I would return to see the rest of the museum. I highly recommend a visit here.

    Enjoyed creating art here!
Very elegant and comprehensive, but too large and overwhelming. Huge empty galleries, lobbies and staircases with hardly any artwork. I loved that the elevator doors were painted with art to entice you. I didn't know where to start, out of all the buildings and exhibits on the plaza, but was glad to see an art workshop area where I could sit and paint an imaginary landscape while I decided. It's posted here. There's full time staff there and they even wash your brushes and clean up for you. The contemporary furniture exhibit was my favorite. The gift shop was gigantic too. There must be some serious art benefactors in Denver to bankroll all this!

    Don't Miss While in Denver!
This is a special museum with lots of interesting exhibits and a terrace with spectacular views of the city and mountains. The hands-on stations throughout give kids (and adults) a chance to interact and participate. It's a great way to spend an afternoon or most of a day! Great gift shop as well.

    A Wonderful Visit!
My parents and I spent the afternoon touring the Denver Art Museum and had a fantastic experience. From the architecture of the museum to the views of downtown and the Rocky Mountains, the space is inviting and inclusive. We were able to borrow a museum wheelchair for my mom to access the museum while my dad took advantage of the portable seating. The galleries featured extensively artwork of native and local artists while adding to a more traditional collection. I appreciated the care that went into curating the exhibits too. My mom especially enjoyed the textiles. You can definitely spend an afternoon, an entire day, or days exploring all that the museum has to offer. I know I will be back during my next adventure in Denver to take in even more!

    2nd time in Denver
Traveled to Denver on business for the second time in two months. Stayed at the hotel connected to this Museum. I have never been a huge fan of travel, however places like this are so much fun. I will definitely be coming back.

Watch out if you are Asian at this museum. Observed some very questionable profiling by security at this facility. I know there is a huge homeless issue around the museum… art was amazing though. Not sure if worth the price. And the area around the museum is pretty smelly and having to worry about things left in your vehicle. Looked like a break in a car parked in the same lot as we did.

Although our visit was short but we still can admire work of Renoir, Degas, Monet, O'Keefe and Picasso. Such an impressive collection this must be a Denver proud. I would like to return so we can appreciate the rest of the collection

No matter what your taste in arts, you'll find the joy in exploring the human imagination at the Denver Art Museum. It's an expansive collection housed in two buildings, so leave plenty of time and expect that in one visit you'll only see a fraction of the holdings. Among the highlights are the collection of western art, contemporary art, and textiles. There's a fine cafe onsite, so do remember to take a break, have a cuppa, and then resume the exploration of the human spirit.

Denver area is known for its outside recreation but while downtown the Denver art museum is a must see. We spent about 2-3 hours and with 2 buildings and 7 floors(exhibits) in one we didn’t see all of it. Most of interest to me was the Russell, Proctor (western art-paintings and sculptures ), Native American and African exhibits. The western and Native American art seemed pretty thorough although African seemed not as extensive to me. Also signage was well placed and lighting good enough to not create so much bending and sight strain. Impressionists and realism represented on another floor as well as contemporary and others. Furniture and pottery exhibits also present.
Another thing when exiting some higher floors were excellent views of downtown, the state building and Proctor bronze casts and more.
I feel as if Denver art museum offered a good taste of different art expressions although was not as extensive as I thought it might be.

Visited the Biophilia "Nature Reimagined" at Denver Art Museum. The exhibit explores the transformative role of contemporary architects, artists, and designers play connecting us to the natural world. Fantastic exhibit well worth your time to visit. One of the features is the new Populus Hotel just down the street from the museum. The exterior of the hotel is almost complete with one of the last exterior panels being placed today.

being from the east coast, I was truly surprised and impressed with the Native American exhibit and western art. If you have never been exposed to western culture, this this is the place to be.

A few days ago,I spent two wonderful days at the Denver Art Museum.Since the Denver Art Museum has an extremely multifarious collection of Art,this review is restricted to its splendid collection of 19th Century European Paintings.French Painters with marvelous paintings on display included the following;Camille Corot("Villa D'Avray Pathway At Pond")Gustave Dore("Street Acrobats"),Jules Breton("Haymaker"),Charles Daubigny,Eugene Boudin,,Claude Monet("Paths At Wheatfield,Pourville")("Fishing Boats"),Pierre Renoir("Banks of Seine,Bougival"),Gustave Caillebotte,Alfred Sisley("Road From Veneux to Moret")Camille Pissarro("The Thaw")("Banks of Oise,Pontoise"),and Paul Cezanne, among others.
I also appreciated fine paintings from the 19th Century by the following British Painters;John Constable,Edward Lear("Nuneham"),and David Roberts("Cathedral at Pisa".
All of the 19th Century Paintings that I mentioned are in the Hamilton Building of the huge Denver Art Museum. The Denver Art Museum is a true source of happiness.

Spectacular museum! Thousands of art pieces across two building and 8 floors. What an experience! I spent 4 hours inside and could have done more, but my legs/feet gave out and I still had to walk back to the hotel. Excellent collection of western work, but that's not all they have to offer. The early Latin American floor is really informative. Thousands of relics from Aztec, Olmec, Inca and Mayan culture along with other tribal and cultural interests. Don't miss this museum if in Denver. Totally worth the price of admission.

Decided to use one of our city pass attractions on this one. It is a nice Museum. Nice to see some interactive activities for the kids and a nice collection of Monet. On the flip side, they need better signage on where the actual entrance is. Where we thought was an entrance was described as something else, so we kept wandering trying to find main building.
