We stopped in the Heritage Center to visit their displays and information. The center isn't huge, but in 3 floors they have quite a range of displays to view. We also watched the introduction video which talked about the people instrumental in the Gold Rush of the Cripple Creek area. Everything there was well done and easy for anyone in... More

This a very nice museum for a small town that includes history of the area. There is a wall of windows where you can look at the mountains and the town of Cripple Creek. The best part is the museum is free and has clean restrooms. A good place to start your visit of the town.

This place is great! It definitely ranks up there, or better than, some of the local paid museums! Tons of great exhibits about the local mining history, as well as dinosaurs and local wildlife. Super friendly front desk staff, who are more than happy to also make recommendations for a more personalized visit to Cripple Creek! This is a "must... More

This is really a museum and visitor center all rolled into one. The views from the main floor of the building were absolutely fantastic. We were there when the Aspen were in their full golden glory and there was snow on the far mountain peaks. Great exhibits on mining and on the railroads. They had a very good film on... More

THis museum has a lot of information and history of the local. It also has a veiw to die for. It's well worth going downstairs and watching the video of early mining days.
