I have been through this museum a hundred times, but Georgianna told me the Peiffer family had contributed some of their things to the collections so I decided to check it out. It really hurt to see what has become of this museum. Priceless relics...More

Take a break from the casino, shopping and eating, and treat yourself with a pretty comprehensive history lesson on Cripple Creek's hey day. If you are the least bit interested in history, give this a go. There is plenty of signage to explain things, both...More

Our trip was during a rain storm, which because the majority of the museum is indoors was no issue at all. You can spend literally hours in just the main building exploring the history of Cripple Creek with hundreds of old photographs, videos, physical items...More

There is so much to see here -- maybe too much? We enjoyed the cabins and outside buildings. The main building is chocked full of artifacts of the area.

A history of the area. Even with the rain(some areas are outside) it was enjoyable. Really enjoyed that it was a walking see what you want. And it is Non-profit.

The only reason I gave this a 4 instead of a 5 is that there's not much else to bring you to the area other than casinos. Great museum though & wonderful staff who was super kind and informative.
