My husband and I enjoyed this tour so much! The tour guide Steven was so knowledgeable. His father originally worked the mines. He had a classic sense of humor. And I just enjoyed everything about it. The walk was easy. And the ride was fun too. Going down the shaft though can be a little scary! I would go again!!!!... More

First they have you wear hard hats and if you want you can put on mining clothes. They take you down on an elevator 1,000 feet which is scary. They do pack you in like sardines, I guess the more people they squeeze on the more money they make. They take you for quite a long walk thru the mine.... More

YOu start by going down a 1000 foot shaft in the same lift the miners did (and packed in like they were). The tour of the mine is conducted by someone who was an actuall miner and they give you a complete picture of what it was like, how the ore was extracted - from drilling the blast holes to... More

I have taken visitors here many times. Recently took British friend and found the whole tour even better. Nice improvements.

It has been 30 years since we last took this tour and loved it. This time we were amazed at just how much it had been expanded and improved. We also went down with old Steve, the miner, and since I have a background in geology, I asked him many technical questions. When the tour was over I told everyone... More

I had not been to cripple creek in 50 years as a kid. I thought the tour lead by Steve the miner was very interesting and very informative in 1 hour. I would recommend that you plan to take the tour before it's gone someday. There is still a lot of gold in those hills.

Just an hour or so from Colorado Springs. It tour lasts about an hour or so and is well worth the money. People of all ages were with us and everyone enjoyed it. The young kids had tons of questions and they were all answered clearly and with patience.

We waited till 945, first tour supposed to be at 10 am. When my husband went in the office the girl said no tours today. When I asked why she couldn't give me a answer. Just said thats what she was told. Very long drive to see this so we were very disappointed. It was not raining or snowing that... More

You will not be disappointed as the guides take you hundreds of feet below the earth surface to experience first hand the hard rock mining of days gone by. You will ride down on the original mine cable cars. This is a real first hand experience good for all ages and very educational as well as exciting and adventurous. I... More
