Very educational

Very educational with the audio tour which takes you through a underground tour of mining. No matter the time of year, definitely wear a jacket!

My family loved it! My three children range from 15 to 5 and they all really enjoyed the tour. It kept my young one's attention and he was facinated by the displays. Must see while in Creede!

This underground museum was built by previous miners who wanted to educate visitors and preserve the area history. Audio tapes are available in several languages and can be used at each marked spot to learn about a piece of equipment and the miners everyday challenges. You go at your own pace.

We took the guided and narrated tour and it was very informative, the fellow giving us the tour is a retired miner and, boy! does he know his stuff, the cost was only $15 person and worth every penny, we took the last tour of the day and he spent plenty of time not only telling about each display but... We had a wonderful tour by Bud who actually worked in the mines! It was very informative and it's nice and cool in the mine! We always enjoy taking a family pic wearing one of the variety of jackets on the coat rack. They have jackets for people to wear because it's so cool in the mine. It's a lot... More

Interesting stop on a hot day. The mine is not a real one but re made to look like one. You probably will need a jacket as it was like 50F in it. You are given a head set and walk from station to station while being told about that part of mining. Well done and enjoyed the tour.

This is a fun museum to visit before you do the Bachelor Loop. It gives you a good background of how mines operated and what miners endured while working in the mines. The museum is actually underground and full of exhibits with authentic old mining equipment. We did the self tour, during which you wear headphones and move from exhibit... More

The mine was great! They offer tour guides or you can walk it by yourself with an audio device. They have about 20 stations that show examples of what being in an actual mine was like. We enjoyed the gift shop too. Outside they offer seed machines to feed the chipmunks!

Glad we went. We did the self guided tour. It took about 30 minutes and was pretty cool. Makes you realize how dangerous and hard mining must have been.
