As a member of a military family, and a firefighter; this is one of those places you stop and remember those who have served and sacrificed.

We dropped by to give our respects to the professional Firefighters that have lost their lives. It is a beautiful memorial.

A big lake about a mile around with a nearby sidewalk circling it. Many people fish or water ski there. Park is also a haven for drug dealers, pit bulls, and the homeless. Bad area/neighborhood, impoverished. Ducks everywhere. Many people walk their dogs. Lake is clean. Was just lined and refilled a few years ago. All the fish and ducks... More

This was a nice little walk with the day that had some great views of the full range of mountains. The geese (?) were everywhere! They were so neat to see and hear in the lake.

We went the day after the annual ceremony, and the flowers, cards, handwritten letters, and so much more, that were left here by family members and loved ones was breathtaking. I cried silently as I... More

We visited this park twice on our trip and each time was just as humbling. We were here for the IAFF Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial service and my husband's fire department had a Line of Duty Death (LODD) the previous year. We went the day of the service, which happens annually every September. During the actual service, thousands of fire... More

Got to see the firefighters memorial durning the day and at night before and afrer the ceremony. It leaves you speechless. Very heart breaking that there is so many names on the wall and more and more get added each year. With the mountains on the background makes for some amazing photos.

This park has an array of important and poignant memorials. The crown jewel is the International Association of Firefighters Memorial in the Northwest corner of the park. The firefighters of Colorado Springs IAFF Local 5 are the sentinels over the memorial of over 7,000 names that have been added to the granite tablets. The attention to detail, the sculptures, and...
