I am not a money enthusiast. My hubs wanted to go. I am really glad we went. I learned a lot. The staff is very welcoming and informative. It was a great experience to see the really old coins (Greek and Japanese, and the Danish slate money.) They have a educational checklist for kids. They find answers from info at displays during visit to museum. They turn it in when they leave and get a free gift. Our gift was foreign money.

My wife and I happened to see this museum and decided to visit recently. There is an extensive collection of money with excellent documentation at each exhibit area. Very impressive to see how the process of making money occurs.

As others have stated, this is a very unique museum with lots of information about medals and coinage. I really enjoyed the displays which each have a pullout card you can look out to find out even more about the coins, bills, or medals you are looking at. Great little gift chop as well with lots of items for collectors both beginning and experienced. Check it out!

I have been wanting to visit the ANA Money Museum for a few years now and finally got the chance this past week! I was very impressed by the sheer volume of items and information available at the Museum, and the opening of the Medal in America Exhibit (which will run through 2024), was incredible! I spent a long time here and easily would go back if I’m in the area again!

Hubby was more interested in this than I was but they do have some interesting exhibits, with one of the coins in the vault area estimated to be worth about $6 million. This is the only known complete collection of $3 coins. There’s also a library and a play area for children, both currently closed due to COVID. It was a nice surprise to learn that from I think Mid May til the fall, all active and retired military AND their spouses get in free!

This is a unbelievable museum of money and a must see for any coin/money collector. The collection of rare coins is so interesting and the history of money is very informative. They have displays of "error notes" that have bills that will reflect being a $5 bill on the front & $10 on the back as an example. They have many other bills that are "error notes" that are neat to see. They have the famous "Walton Specimen" that is a very interesting story in itself regarding a rare coin that was thought to be lost.

The cost is very reasonable ($8 for adults but they offer a senior/military discount for $6) and it's easy to navigate through the museum. Currently they have a section about the history of money from Europe with many different coins, notes and artifacts from that area including Canada.

The parking is free if you find a space in the small parking area next to the museum (it;s located next to the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center and near the Colorado College campus).

We were walking by and decided to "pop in". We have been to numismatic museums all over the world and this one is 'right up there" with it's exhibits.
Thanks for the experience!

I wasn't sure I would like this but it turned out if was far more interesting than I expected! There was one section of coins that was on loan that we spent at least 45 minutes in looking at all of them. The guard on duty really gave us lots of information on everything. If you think money is just money, think again! We thoroughly enjoyed the museum.
