Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is America's ONLY mountain zoo. Large alpine habitats are home to over 950 different animals and approximately 180 species. All of your favorites are here - monkeys, hippos, tigers, elephants and bears (oh my!). Hand-feed their large reticulated giraffe herd, and experience animals up-close, like never before.

I am very critical of zoos, I feel they have the utmost responsibility to provide a healthy happy existence for animals in captivity...and this place nailed it! They actually practiced what they preached with conservation efforts, and everything was fun for our whole family. I wish some of the buildings had been more stroller friendly, but you can't help that.

This is my 2nd time to this zoo (first with the family) I think its the perfect size for my 6 and 2 y/o to go. Its not overly packed. You don't have to push to the front to see anything. Animals seem to well taken care of and the views are to die for. Plan for lots of semi... More

On the side of the mountain makes this a very special zoo. Strenuous if walked completely but there are methods to avoid much of the walking. Made for a fun and interesting day. Seemed very expensive to us. Maybe just the way most attractions are now.

We went to this zoo and we were not disappointed. Probably one of the best zoos we've been to. All the staff was so friendly and very informative. Especially Anthony in the penguin exhibit. We lived the bears and feeding the giraffes and elephants. The sky ride up the side of the mountain was fun but if your afraid of... More

Every time we come to Colorado the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is must. It never disappoints with the elephants, giraffes and grizzlies. We enjoyed the new ski lift and look forward to future development of that area. People should take advantage of the Will Rogers Shrine that is included with your admission. The views are better than Pikes Peak. I do... More

This zoo, up in the mountains, is pretty, with a nice animal collection. There's a fun giraffe feeding area and swimming hippos along with lions, gorillas, penguins, monkeys, among others. There is quite a bit of up and down walking and also a tram. I would recommend coming in the morning for less crowds.

This was a wonderful addition to our vacation. We were travelling with our twenty-year-old children, and all four of us really loved the time we spent here. The giraffe exhibit was one-of-a-kind and so phenomenal! I have never had the opportunity to actually interact with these animals, and it was so neat. This was a great setting to see all... More

Besides having the chance to see animals and learn about their habits and natural habitats, the view from this mountain is magnificent! Some spaces look a bit small for the animals, however is nice to know some of them have been rescued, and now have a place to be safe and taken care of. Loved the peacocks moving freely around...
