Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is America's ONLY mountain zoo. Large alpine habitats are home to over 950 different animals and approximately 180 species. All of your favorites are here - monkeys, hippos, tigers, elephants and bears (oh my!). Hand-feed their large reticulated giraffe herd, and experience animals up-close, like never before.

We fed the giraffes and got super close to just about every animal in this well done zoo. Highly recommend going as a half day activity. This giraffe in the picture was being introduced to the herd. All the others were outside with no cage. She just needed a scratch and some lettuce.

Two of today's highlights were seeing the rhinocerous being hand fed by a zookeeper during snack time and an elephant receiving a "mani-pedi." Every visit is a delight. The keepers are knowledgeable and friendly. The zoo is well maintained. I would recommend checking out the feeding, snack, and training times. For a small cost you can participate in the snack... Our grand-kids asked us to take them here and we agreed. What a great day. If you haven't been put this on you list of things to do in Colorado Springs. It is arranged well with designated areas for the various animals. It has a wonderful variety of animals from all over the world. It is very interactive for the... More

Moving to Colorado from central Florida I wasn't sure what I could do with my 2yo son without my husband (he carries him on our hikes 😜) but when I found this zoo I was excited!! Yes it's on a mountain and yes it definitely makes you workout, but they have larger golf carts (maybe 5-6 people) tours you can... More

The Zoo is in a great location and in a beautiful surrounding. It it kind of small and was very crowded. The Giraffes are fun to feed and the the Sky Rail will give you a nice view from above. I personally found the Animal Enclosures to small and felt bad for the animals. It was nothing spectacular for me.

This zoo had a lot of hands on animal experiences that a lot of places don't seem to have. The layout of the zoo was also very nice and seemed to flow well. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and the grounds were kept very clean! We had a fabulous time and we would definitely recommend it!

Great day trip from Denver. Views are spectacular. Go for the giraffe feeding time, buy some lettuce and get up close with these gentle animals.

The Staff were engaging and knowledgeable. Got to see a few animals we had never seen. The Black Rhino was impressive. The Grizzly Bears looked almost like giant teddy bears. The Zoo is on Cheyenne Mountain, separated by an access road. You go up the grade on one side and down the other, an easy walk.

Had a great time at this zoo. I am from Minnesota and this Zoo is twenty times better then the Minnesota. I love the interaction you are allowed with the animals and the zoo keepers and volunteers couldn't be nicer . The only negative is they need more options for vendors . It took awhile to find a place for... More
