Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is America's ONLY mountain zoo. Large alpine habitats are home to over 950 different animals and approximately 180 species. All of your favorites are here - monkeys, hippos, tigers, elephants and bears (oh my!). Hand-feed their large reticulated giraffe herd, and experience animals up-close, like never before.

We had a fun couple of hours at the zoo. Loved feeding the giraffes. Lots of walking as it really is on the side of a mountain. A couple of the large exhibits were being renovated, so no animals there. However, it's well worth a visit.

I have been to several Zoo attractions and I would rate this one in top 2. My husband and I had been there several years before with our son. We enjoyed it then but life got busy and traveled to other attractions. We went back on an anniversary weekend just the two of us. We enjoyed the old ski lift... More

Whenever I have friends or family visit I recommend the zoo. And I always go with and I always love it. Young, teens, adults or seniors - it's a great way to spend the day. Walking involved, but there are trams for people that need that assistance.

Don't miss this wonderful zoo in the great Rocky Mountains. Animals are well cared for and happy. A great thing to do with visitors and especially children.

My husband and I visited here on our recent honeymoon and we had the most amazing day! I am a huge animal lover and the way the zoo is designed you actually get up close with animals! The setting is also gorgeous and has amazing views.

Our family loves zoos & has visited many and we love our hometown mountain zoo. Beautiful views of the mountains & Colorado Springs, especially from the gondola ride and the Will Rogers Shrine. We went after a good snow & it was breathtaking. Be sure to see the lions play in their big space. Love the Colorado animals, especially the... More

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is a treasure! I love nature and animals, but zoos...not so much. I've always had issues with the animals being too confined in unnatural settings. Not so with the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. The animals are in settings carefully designed to mimic their home. Their habitats are very clean. And what makes it so much fun is that... More

I love this zoo. It's smaller than the one in Denver, but hiking up and down the hills to see the animals makes for a really fun afternoon. There's lots of shade, the views of the city are amazing, and not even a group of adults can resist feeding the giraffes.

The setting for this zoo is fantastic! The zoo wraps itself around the mountainside. The paths are not flat walking--definitely take your time if not used to the altitude. Children love it; teens love it; adults love it. The zoo promotes many "themed" parties and celebrations throughout the year that people flock to!

Lots of walking up and down the hills and you can see the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun. My grandson loved some big chairs that we took a picture of him in. The facility was very clean and a surprising amount of animals were there to see. I thought the altitude may have limited what you can see.
