Enjoyed have time on the cog train. Went up on top of the mountain and wish we could have spent more time up there. The only issue was it was a cloudy day so we couldn't see very far otherwise they said you can see...More

Sigh. One of the most beautiful places in Colorado. We took the cog train up. It was cold so make sure you dress appropriately. Grab some oxygen just in case because I had a hard time breathing.

Unless you live in the area, you may only get one shot to see Pikes Peak. Fantastic, put you on the edge of your seat drive up and down. Views for miles and miles. Gift shop was fun with some history to it. We did...More

We made it up to 12,500ft in our small SUV. The roads are not for the faint-of-heart. We decided not to go any farther as the curves and drops made us far too nervous. But the views along the way were phenomenal. Hope we can...More

Love pikes peak. Come to fish and hike here often. Kinda scary driving all the way to the top once you get past the tree line. But amazing views! Greatly recommend.

Everyone should drive or ride the cog train up this mountain at least once in their lifetime. The views are amazing. America the Beautiful at its best.

The drive up is absolutely stunning! Be careful to call before you go-it is frequently not open to the top, due to weather. Fairly expensive, too, but the views are incredible.

At over 14K feet you may notice yourself out of breath for the thin air and not just the views. The horizon goes on in every direction and you truly get a sense of just how diverse the landscape of Colorado can be. Zig-zagging up...More

Hi, We have a planned vacation in Pikes Peak coming up in two weeks. But, I recently found out that I am pregnant :) - I would love to visit this place and really looking forward to it, but is it safe for pregnant women to travel the cog railway and be up at 14000 ft ? Also, I am flying to Colorado, which is a 2 hrs flight (each way) from my place I could not get any doctor's appointment before our vacation days, so hoping to find some answers here. Please help. It would be great if I could get advice from someone who was pregnant and visited Pikes Peak and other Colorado attractions. Thank you so much. Kindly advise. Has anyone visited Pikes Peak while pregnant?

Hi there, Just wondering if a person with diabetes would be okay with the elevation at the summit of pike's peak. (we live in the middle of the prairie's in Canada - basically sea level). I have driven up to the summit once myself a couple of years back and I was fine (Mountain roads don't bother me, I was born in Europe around mountains, so that part was great, and I loved the views, and the experience) .. but I am coming back with my daughters... one of whom has Down Syndrome and has just been diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic .... so I never had to think about this before... and I am wondering if anyone else with diabetes has taken the drive up to the summit, and what recommendations you may have to prepare her for this. We will be flying in to Denver on May 19th and driving to Colorado Springs for that night. I was hoping to do the pike's peak drive on May 20th, along with garden of the god's and possibly some other things if we have time. We are returning home on May 21st... so we will only be in the area for a very short time, and trying to maximize the time there. Thank you in advance for any advice with this:) Maria

Thank you for your inquiry. Many people experience the effects of altitude sickness during their visit and can usually minimize these effects by drinking plenty of water, acclimating to the area prior to visiting the Summit... More
