There are many things to see and do on our mountain including experiencing spectacular views as you ascend to 14,115 feet, encounter Mother Nature on our hiking trails or watch for wildlife such as deer, elk, bighorn sheep or yellow-bellied marmots. You may even spot the elusive Bigfoot during your visit. The 19 mile journey on the fully paved road to the summit begins in Cascade, Colorado, just 15 minutes west of downtown Colorado Springs. From the entrance, at an altitude of 7,800 feet (2377m) begin to explore the Pike National Forest and the natural beauty of Colorado.Along the way, you'll discover the North Slope Recreation Area, Crystal Reservoir Gift Shop, Historic Glen Cove Inn, and the Summit House. There are three lakes for fishing, picnic areas, hiking trails, and breathtaking views. Stop and watch one of our "Meet the Ranger" Interpretive Programs and learn about the history, myths, flora and fauna on the mountain. All offer visitor services and basic necessities to make your day both enjoyable and memorable.

The view is incredible! Totally worth the money for the train ticket. The only complaint is that you only have about 20 minutes total at the top of the peak. So I would recommend driving yourself up if you're able and want more time. Bring...More

The Peak is quite a place to visit. At 14,110 feet get ready to feel a bit light headed. The views are unbelievable! Stop by the summit house and get a famous donut! We usually drive up the peak, it is a scenic route.

We chose to drive to Pikes Peak and we were very glad we did. We don't mind the mountain, hair pin curves! We enjoyed stopping along the route taking pictures and exploring. We did see two smaller big horn sheep near the top. There is...More

It is a long way to the top! Would have helped if there was a cash only line. Beautiful view! Don't forget to take a jacket!

The drive up the toll road is not bad until the last 2-3 miles then it gets pretty steep. Plenty of parking at the top and the road is well maintained and paved. It is expensive but it is worth it to have a safe...More

A great way to spend the day, driving, hiking, biking or take a train up. It really is a place where you can choose your own adventure. We drove up, stopped at a few of the pull outs and walked around. Unfortunately we were time...More

I think the last time we went we allowed about 4 hours for the entire trip. You get about 20-30 minutes at the top which is generally enough time to get a donut & buy a trinket while also drinking in the view. Go early to... More

The ride is about 90 minutes and you should pan to spend an couple of hours at the top. MOST IMPORTANT: Drink lots of water, it helps ward off altitude sickness and at 14,110 feet, that is a real possibility. Also, as some... More
