I've been to Boulder a few times and finally made the time to climb the Flatirons. I did the 1/2 trail and with plenty of stops in the way up, it was enjoyable esp towards the top. Arrived at 830am on a Saturday, left around 11am and crowds started given it was a clear sunny warm spring day. I'm not... More

My husband and I had a short stay in Boulder and we definitely wanted to get out and get some exercise. Many reviews had mentioned how crowded the trails would be at the Flatirons. They weren't lying. However, it doesn't matter. There are many manageable trails, great parking, beautiful views, and friendly people and equally friendly dogs along all of... More

The Flatirons hike following the Chautauqua trail is a must do! During the week day, the trails were festive, but not too busy. Loved every step!

The flatirons can be seen throughout the city. You can hang at the base if the park enjoying the atmosphere, people watching, or just taking time out to be. There is also an interactive facility for keeps learning about wildlife and the various hikes available. Hikes can be short or long, strenuous or easy and there are many signs so... More

We hiked to the top of flatiron #2 with kids aged 8-4 and carrying one in a backpack. The views are amazing and the hike is fun. It's a little steep at the top so not good for someone who has trouble climbing over rocks or is scared of heights. On our way down there were dozens of groups of... More

We had a hard time finding this - you need to use Baseline road - you can drive up for beautiful vistas of Boulder and the Rockies. Lots of hiking trails but you can drive up to the top.

The Flatirons are a must see if you are ever in Boulder! It can be very hard to find parking because it is so crowded, but it is worth it. We only hiked for about half an hour, but got some great pictures and then had to move on towards our destination of RMNP.

What a great day hike -- for the best views, take the Chautauqua Trail to the Flatirons 1/2 Trail all the way to the top. The main trail is pretty crowded, so you may want to take some of the other connecting trails if you want to see other parts of the park without a lot of crowds. Practically in... More

You will never forget the beauty! Trails are an easy hike on the lower park... If not just give the Flatirons a slow drive by. Its just beautiful a trip you wont soon forget. Also you can continue up the road for stunning views of Boulder and beyond up on the mountain.

Viewing the Flatirons from afar, they look like a shimmering water color painting. As you get closer, you notice that the shimmering shadows are pine trees, and even closer, that there are color variations in the mountain rock. What natural beauty!
