My husband & I hiked these for the second time. We park at Chataqua Park for free & hike from there. We love the 1st & 2nd flat iron trail because we can pretty much reach the top where other trails don't go as high...More

The Flatirons are situated on the very east side of the Rocky Mountain near Boulder, CO. Scenic enough, but the higher Rockies lie further west. Not much snow to speak of this January, so the mountains were still rather "scruffy." Nice pleasant drive and plenty...More

There are windy narrow roadways leading to the flatiron Views but well worth it. Lots of well marked trails to choose from. It’s the best place to hike while you’re in Boulder. You don’t have to be a hiker to enjoy the scenery and nature....More

It was icy on the way up into the mountain. Definitely need hiking shoes/boots. Once you get up into the Flat Irons there was less ice because of less travel. There is a great view of Boulder and the mountains are gorgeous. easy hike

Don't be deceived. Though just blocks from a residential neighborhood, the Flatirons is one of America's finest short hikes. Lovely alpine meadow with grand views of Boulder and the Great Plains beyond. A longer, challenging hike up the ladders and rocks of the stunning Flatirons...More

this is one fo the best places to hike in Boulder. But, beware, it can get pretty tough, and you don't want to have the rangers help you down.

Beautiful, fun hike, especially between the first and second flatiron, Gives you views of the back range from the top and know-out views of the city as you climb up the trail.

There is street parking that's free if you want to start your walk earlier. Talk to the ranger/docent at the visitor center. He or she will advise. There are definitely flat trails in the meadows that are very pleasant... More

We were there much later than April when the weather was very warm and all the walks were available. Looking at the answers from other contributors it could be a problem or you may strike lucky. Sorry can't be helpful.
